King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

I think that resolution was for the purpose of starting Bobby and Connie's relationship fresh for next season without the baggage that comes from previous seasons based on how they left things off with them talking about their new interests in the hospital. I hope that the open relationship stuff is forever dropped like it was after Chane dumped Connie for the sake of a redemption arc for Connie next season but I have my doubts.
Part of Connie breaking up with Chane did seem to acknowledge that the “open relationship” thing was heavily flawed compared to what she thought it was. It also seemed to be partly a reaction to her parents relationship, and Peggy did reassure her on that front.

Which Velma writer?
Allegedly a few writers from that God awful Velma show managed to worm their way into the writing room for this show and I'm not going to lie and say you can't see it because you totally can in some episodes.

Luckily Judge seems to be doing a decent job tard wrangling them and they haven't caused critical damage, yet.

Oh, really? My bad, I could have sworn it was one of the later seasons; at any rate, he was still a baby by the end and couldn't be older than 10 at the absolute most, definitely not a Tate-watching teen only eight years later.
You're probably thinking of Gracie, Luanne's daughter.

The show hasn't addressed that yet.

No review. I refuse.

If I had to guess, Greg Daniels also has something to do with this trend based on his track record with the US Office and Parks and Recreation. In contrast to Judge who lived a normal life outside the entertainment before hitting it big with Beavis and Butthead, Daniels never lived a life outside of Harvard or the entertainment industry and, as a result, cannot write or imagine something as vivid or relatable as Judge as proven by the comedic contrast between The Office and Office Space.

That's part of why I hated Parks and Rec. I'm not saying the show couldn't make me laugh at times or entertain me, but that was not a show about a town in Indiana. It wore its hatred of middle America on its sleeve and you could tell the writers didn't care about any of that.

Which Velma writer?
Stephanie M Johnson. IMDB says she was responsible for most of Velma:

Sucks, too, because Tate is absolutely someone Hank wouldn't approve of, but the way he acts and the arguments Stephanie puts in his mouth are completely out of character. (for example, one Evil Incel was mad because he got "friend-zoned", which Hank would never approve of. While he's happy to be "friends" with certain women - mostly Peggy, who obviously isn't a friendzone relationship - the only woman who he'll let unburden her emotional baggage on him is Peggy, and even then he usually either blanks out and nods politely, or gets uncomfortable and tries to change the subject. Hanks advice to the incel wouldn't be "if she doesn't like you then keep letting her tell you her problems because that's her choice", it would be "move on you idiot, stop crying like a baby, and find a good woman who WILL marry you")

Sort of. There are several parts throughout the season which seem to indicate that "open relationships" are just a verbose cope to try and justify being fuck buddies while also maintaining an air of ethical superiority, which is fair enough. Although I'm not sure that necessarily means the writers think poly relationships are bad per say, and it certainly doesn't change the fact that several of the writers are getting off on it.

Connie's arc this season was realizing that she wanted more out of her relationships than getting dicked by an entire fraternity, and I hope they stick with that, although I'm also pretty sure they'll find ways to throw a wrench in Bobby and Connie's relationship in future seasons (because drama, if nothing else) and I really hope it won't involve her going back to the poly lifestyle. It was funny when it was just Dale and Nancy, and it wasn't in tons of shows and all over the internet, but at this point it's just tiresome.

The show hasn't addressed that yet.
That could be it, yeah.

From what I understand, they're planning on leaving Luanne unaddressed, which I'd be OK with. She was one of my favorite characters in the OG series, but I'll just assume she's moved off somewhere glamorous and is living the highlife with Lucky, Gracie, and some new peepee money. Maybe they could get an email from Luannne confirming it's all working out, or at absolute worst a now-inexplicably-thirty-year-old Gracie suddenly shows up with five kids of her own, but the less that's said the better, I think.

MUCH rather that, then the weird AI voice thing they did for the season's final scene with John Redcorn.

Thats what separates judge from say ch greenblatt when he worked on jellystone. Greenblatt was surrounded by tards and is the reason jellystones writing reeked of current year. He was too much of a pansy to tell his dei hires no when they demanded bullshit be added to that show.

It's hard to say how bad dei hit koth 2025 given how it was most likely in development prior to d.e.i was being told to d.i.e. even with the Velma writers being given a chance to work on the show despite Delmas abysmal failure. But much like beavis and butt post do the universe judge seems to have kept the chimps in line.

They went to Beverly Hills after slipping on an oil slick. Texas Pee, they call it.

Honestly, this season was a 6/10 at best. There were some funny bits but it will never beat the early seasons or have the same heart that the show originally had as the Father/Son dynamic was given up mostly in favor of Hank and Bobby separately coming-to-terms with themselves and the modern world, which ultimately is not as memorable or enduring as the former. Although it was known they would force Bobby and Connie together based on the leaked storyboards for next season, them stretching out their arc for the entire season and entertaining the open relationship stuff makes me fear that Bobby will succumb to being a cuckold in next season. That boy deserves better.
Member when Bill was eating pudding while watching Peggy and Luanne wrestle? I don't ever remember this becoming a meme or if anything it's trying to force itself to be. Couldn't they have chosen a much more obscure if not original image to pick Bill rather than a doctored up clip from the earlier seasons?

Let's just pray that they got all of their fan service out of the way for this season and the next one should be all about moving forward.
