Again, you could not script something better than Cobes judging his girlfriend for her blackout drinking. It's doubly funny because Jessica is in many ways actually worse than Cobes, she's a literal step down further into the gutter. It's like a Seinfeld premise, where people tell George he's literally the bottom of the barrel as relationship material, so he takes it upon himself to find someone worse.

And yeah, he really seems to be tiring of her. He gets laid, he's feeling manly, he feels good and like a success. Suddenly the desperation of the last 6 years fades into the background, and he starts believing he really is a sexy goth rocker instead of just feigning it. Eventually, he'll forget his former misery long enough to sever ties with Jessica over something childish, only to rue the day he ever gave up that burgerpussy, 2 years later during his second dryspell.
