Personally I feel like these people see themselves in Cobra, they see the parts that they hate in themselves the most. Their anger comes from their own misgivings, their faults, their failed opportunities and their own over-inflated ego. They can't stand seeing him do the things they can't help doing themselves, no matter how benign or stupid it is; they're terrified of being like Cobes. He's like a mirror into the future for them and it scares them so much they lash out at him for every little "mistake" he does.

I don't understand the scalding, all-encompassing hatred however. They act like he's actively pursuing underage children and destroying people's lives, like he's Albert Fish or something. Being a literal alcoholic retard might make Cobra seem like a monster to some, but what do I know? They aren't going after him because of what he did, but because he is the only one they can affect because they are, in terms of how pathetic they are, even sadder.

Eh, Cyraxx isn't a good comparison. Cyraxx will go out of his way to harass people, like the women that break up with him.
