If you look at how he eats he holds his food weirdly - He holds a Burger in a almost cupping manner and eats all around the outside before moving in on the centre assuming he can pick up what he's cooked. It's one thing to eat corn on the Cob like a typewriter starting at one end working towards the other and rotating it around, but cobes seems to eat Burgers like that it's honestly fascinating to me because apart from the obvious things there are many little mannerisms of his that are just odd.

I'm a big believer in Family is Family and you need to look after them but there are limits to that and Cobes is that guy who you want to help but he's to far gone and too unwilling to accept help on anything other than his own terms in what essentially ends up as enabling him and not criticising his ideas or actions.

When it comes to Cows I'm not interested in 99% of them, I'm into trying to work out where the Human stops and the Bovine begins and how they function as a person or more to the point where they stop being able to function and Cobes is honestly fascinating to me as he somehow manages to ride the cusp of being non functional and functional at the same time and how he's doing a Social, Famillerial and Financial juggling act without falling over and trying to work out where it's going to go in the end, I don't wish him Harm I want to see him stop drinking, smoking and get his shit together but it's not going to happen.

To be fair to Clint I can see Josh being a incredibly difficult Child to raise and once he finally got out from under his and the rest of the families feet and he took a deep dive down the path he was on I can see him wanting to keep him at arms length to preserve that normalcy now that he has gotten it. I know what you mean, I'm not sure just how much legal power he has over Josh if he's doing all that for him it sounds more like offical caretaker duties, especially when you consider how he was able to restrict access to Josh's bank account when he was mid 20's that's not something normally you can do to a independent adult.

This is the fact of the matter. never in the history of mankind has the saying “you can’t help somebody who doesn’t want help” ring more true than with Josh Saunders. Every attempt to help cobra leads to him throwing an autistic freak out and doubling down on the negative behavior he needs help with OUT OF SPITE because you dare tell him what he should do. Clint has very likely tried literally everything from coddling him, to begging, to bargaining, to getting angry and getting physical. (Cobra admitted his father smacked him across the face when he got out of hand) it’s all been a Sisyphean struggle.

Look at his birthday for instance. Josh was supposed to go out for dinner with his family and got completely shitfaced by himself. Totally blackout drunk right when he was going to go to the goddamn Olive Garden at 5pm. His dad told him that they’d have to go the next day because he was too drunk (huge understatement) and didn’t even berate him and cobra responded by going online to rant and rave and say cruel shit about his family and spitefully declare “I’m too dunk?! I’ll show you too drunk!”

Clint is in an impossible to win situation. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. It’s easy as an outside observer working with conjunction to say “oh boo Clint doesn’t do enough he should step in” but the guys been dealing with this nightmare child for over 30 fuckin years. 30 years of what amounts to slamming his head into a brick wall for NOTHING. The fact that he hasn’t cut his losses to just enjoy his life and completely abandoned or disowned Josh entirely is a testament to how much he loves his son despite all his flaws. The guy just wants to live his life, he’s accepted that Josh won’t change or accept any help and would just as soon hurt himself before he’d give in and admit he was wrong or needs it. How could anybody blame him for purely just trying to minimize the damage any which way and just try and keep everybody involved “happy”
