Do you think his ‘fuck you, I’m not listening’ came from the constant fucking with? Or is this more him being as shithead and it’s his oppositional defiance disorder shit coming out?

I was skimming the subreddit and there were some people who said sent good messages in his texts. Shit that encouraged him and wasn’t being an asshole, and yet he still responded with his typical ‘I own your life trolle’.


I remember pages back saying he would love Harry Dresden series (modern wizard who lives in poverty that everyone thinks is crazy) and nearly everyone had story of trying to encourage him to do audiobooks or something along those lines. Def wouldn’t go anywhere though


I think he’s a mix of shithead and now being a broken lolcow

My moneys on that tbh, I think his ODD makes him a bigger shit head than he'd be otherwise but he's determined to do his own thing and unless someone agrees with him 100% in what he's doing he'll defy them just to prove to himself if nothing else he's his own man.

Teenagers tend to grow out of the defiant position in life and come to see their parents perspective on things as they age, ESPECIALLY by the time they're 30. Our boy is definitly disordered in his thinking (not like we cant all see that lol)

I've been thinking about this recently... I'm not trying to play armchair psychologist, but clearly our boy is in an arrested state of development, like a lot of special needs ppl.

It is completely natural for children even in the 'teenage rebellion' stage to present narcissistic traits. It makes sense from an evo-psych perspective because human children require a ton of care and investment from their parents. For the first couple of years children are completely dependent on their parents and NEED to be narcissistic in order to signal to their parents that they need XYZ (food, water, shelter, comfort). But at a certain age (10-13) children naturally grow into their own person. During this transitional stage you have a kind of narcissistic rebellion where the child establishes themselves as their own person before developing into an adult. Cobes is stuck in this 10-13 year old oppositional stage, but his tendency to take criticism the way he does (doing the opposite of what someone says) really falls on the dysfunctional side of the scale.

I don't think there is anything Clint can do honestly... Cobes has a unique set of mental disabilities and illnesses that reject any and all help. It's truly a tragedy and I've been feeling bad for Clint more and more. It honestly must be so painful to have a son like that...

Honestly, I think Cobes was cursed from the start... He is hell bent on killing himself with his lifestyle, and too mentally disabled to understand why he should live any other way. He is completely unemployable. That said, I have personally seen many homeless drug addicts get off the junk and after 3-6 months completely bounce back and look/act like presentable people. But even those people probably started with a full deck of cards, while cobra was played a hand of only 2 jokers...

By Clint's own admission, a few years ago when he wrote the responses on reddit, he put Josh's emotional age at around 13. So Josh is probably emotionally 16 at this point.

What would his rock bottom even look like? Homeless? Beaten up by some locals over being a fucking drunk weirdo? Arrested for public intoxication?

Homeless will never happen while his family is around. Beaten up would lead to heavy hits of copeium. Arrested would get family angry and maybe take action, but Copes would fight that with every shitty rotten tooth and scummy nail.

No doubt in my mind Cobes would think moving back in with Clint is rock bottom. He probably thinks he'd prefer to be homeless than that.
