Eh, I listen to a lot of doom metal, like Electric Wizard and Bongripper, and a lot of that music is simplistic and heavy as shit. So I'd figure him just practicing basics could potentially have him produce some heavy doom. As he says though, he is autistic, leave him alone.

I'm kind of surprised Cobes doesn't listen to more stoner/doom. You'd think he possibly would, it seems fairly up his alley, but I guess ten minute or longer songs full of riffs will take too much time out of a gender relayshuns rant.

My Dying Bride would lay into the goth ideal of his, although he might not understand goth in that sense.

Can you imagine the BogBeast listening to a 90-minute Bell Witch track? Or how he would react to a full album of Primitive Man listen? Cobes like his metal similarly to how he likes his booze and pop, quick and easy to consume. He does like some good bands, but he doesn't seem to explore music all that much beyond what it can give him right now.

I mean, he views metal in a strange way in general. For him, it's a costume of manliness, likely viewing the leather and latent biker image of older metal as some sort of macho alpha male ideal. Way he talks as well, like some sort of prophet stoner, all laid back and cool. It's mostly a pantomime for him, and his goal of getting some pussy. He would become a Eurotrash Gabber Pillhead if he thought that would score him some fanny.

Cobes is a hot topic level fan. Venom are unlikely to show up in that type of setting, so he likely never paid any attention he sees them mentioned. Cradle of Filth are very much a band you would see in Hot Topic, also has that latent goth tone to it, which we know Cobes loves. Probably things are different on the two sides of the pond: when I was living in the UK I saw Bathory and Venom shirts in fashion metal chain stores which were the rough equivalent of Hot Topic.

I'm 37 and grew up in the goth / metal sub culture and his tastes even allowing for that level are really really surface level basic, I mean I can recall being 15 and Her Ghost in the Fog being THE hot music video but it quickly fucking off, and Cradle was viewed as a OK but kinda kiddy / new age band who where edgy for edge sake (oddly enough I like Danny Filth as a person, he's really decent as a person on the down low, I've just long outgrown his music).

But josh looks at something and see's that as verbatim how they / it is, asking him to read into something or understand something beyond a superficial surface level is a fools game because he can't and when he claims he can it's a word for word interpretation from another source he's googled.

I'm not saying this to start another "debate" over the matter, but as someone who works with the mentally ill, pedophilia (paraphilia) is a mental disorder that can go along side others mental disorders. I'm starting to believe he does have a mild case of it and deflects it on the trolls by calling them a pedo/ constantly saying he hates them or saying "of age" after talking about women. inb4 someone freaks out over this, I'm not saying he is one, I'm just saying it's odd and needs a proper psych evaluation. for the past few years, his mental state has been nose-diving and he really needs some help.
