Is it not completely obvious to everyone that Josh isn’t autistic? He’s not “on the spectrum”, he doesn’t have asbergers, not even close. This is clear as day to anyone that has even the slightest experience with people that actually have a legitimate diagnosis.

It’s much more convenient for both Josh and his dip shit father to blame decades of his poor decision making and behavior on autism when in reality Josh is just stupid (literally, I don’t say that to be mean). As a result of this codependent thinking Josh’s behavior will never change and his life will naturally get darker and more pathetic and Josh’s decision to livestream and videotape the process will only complicate things further. Yes, but bear in mind how much of it is Josh simply lying to Clint about what's happening and what "my trolls" are doing to him at any given time. There's been some shit here and there like A-logs calling his job to get him shitcanned but keep in mind that his irl social circle consists of nothing but drug addicts that have stabbed people, killed babies, and either fantasized or actually committed bestiality.

I’m not going to go into my personal experience too much on this site for obvious reasons but I do have first hand experience with autistic individuals that have had severe symptoms and those that were considered to be high functioning.

Some of the more severe cases had symptoms so extreme that they have no chance at a normal life. In some cases the inability to communicate verbally or non verbally, stemming to the point of self harm, biting or scratching and harming others ect. At this level it gets very frustrating to attempt to help them because there is no realistic chance at them ever making progress.

One example of a mild to severe case was a seven year old that did have the ability to communicate using short grunts and some repeated sentences. He would react violently at hearing or seeing words that started with the letter “P” (He especially disliked the word “people” and it was unwise to use it in his presence). This kid would also wear latex gloves further covered with rubber gloves and half a dozen rubber bands around the wrist so tight it looked like he had been handcuffed too tightly around the wrist when the gloves had to be replaced. He also bit so hard it often required the victim to get stitches.

Obviously Josh would not be considered to have a severe case but high functioning. Again, I do not believe that he is on the spectrum at all but the personal experience that would be most applicable to Josh would be my experience working with with colleged aged individuals that were labeled high functioning (Aspergers Syndrome). The purpose of this particular program was to help these people in learning to socialize more appropriately and assist them in understanding social cues that they are otherwise completely oblivious to. This involved helping them understand when someone is uncomfortable with something they were doing in a social interaction, helping them play simple games that have a social element like Pictionary (this was fascinating by the way) and answering questions / giving advice about their social woes in a “big brother/sister” sort of role.

Something that is by far the most common is that they simply do not understand when someone is no longer engaged in a conversation. Often times they have very specific interests that they are downright obsessed with. They do not understand why you may also not be as interested as they are about their interests. They will follow you around the room for an hour rambling about their favorite rocks and rattle off geology terminology long after you have broken off eye contact and may be engaged in a completely different conversation with someone else. One would be talking to me about rocks and another would be attempting to educate me on the intricacies of airsoft guns simultaneously. They don’t understand why this is inappropriate socially and would just talk over each other. Most people pick up on non verbals like lack of continued eye contact or more subtle looks that a normal functioning person would take as the “I am no longer interested in talking to you for an hour about airsoft scopes.” look.

It could be argued that Josh could be even higher on the spectrum than these colleged aged high functioning people but I have no doubt that Josh is not on the spectrum at all. At this point I can go to a sporting event, a baseball game for example, and pick out someone that is on the spectrum just from their behavior in a crowd within a short amount of time. This is not uncommon after a certain amount of experience working with people on the spectrum, it’s kind of weird but fun to be honest.

At the same time, I have no doubt that someone has either suggested or even professionally diagnosed Josh with autism spectrum disorder. It is a problem and it is over diagnosed more and more commonly when encountering learning disabilities and socially inappropriate behavior. I stick by what I said, he is not autistic, he is of low intelligence to put it nicely and Josh and his father choose to hang on to the autism diagnosis because it garners more sympathy and a more convenient defense for Josh’s poor behavior.

If you take a look at the actual symptoms of autism spectrum disorders and compare them with Josh’s behavior you may find some similarities but you would be trying to stick a square peg into a round hole, especially when considering the social symptoms. Just because Josh repeats phrases, believes in magic, can’t spell, or his face looks a certain way doesn’t mean he is autistic.

Edit: I feel that I should say that I am not claiming to be a professional/licensed expert in any form. I just happened to have years of experience working with people with autism for other more personal reasons. I do believe that having this amount of personal experience does give me a certain perspective and ability to identify similarities and one thing that really pisses me off is when people use autism as an excuse or crutch.
