I wish I could see VICE editors trying to explain to legal counsel what a VTuber is, why they've got a cosplayer nailing a C&D letter to their door like a fucking Martin Luther - the thing itself, covered in anime girl stickers and practically written as if in crayon.
And then they get to see those $20 articles they published to pad their content for advertisers.

Phil likely has no contract and is just a freelancer, so he really can't be "fired".

I'd assume that if the pedo thing keeps going they might think once or twice before letting him publish more paraphilic articles.

He's still probably got some form of contract with the company. The relationship is likely severable at will, so the smart, face-saving play would be to give the creep a couple idiot-proof assignments he can't possibly fuck up, then quietly tell him not to submit any more work once the heat has died down. Whether Phillip still has enough of a self-preservation instinct in his troonshine-addled brain to shut the fuck up and salvage what he can of his reputation would be on him at that point.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the logic here. The articles simply existing was seen as a loss for Kirsche due to the damage they dealt to her reputation via a """"reputable outlet"""" like Vice, but those same articles all being redacted and the author being outed as a rape fetishist with POCD ISN'T a loss simply because said author wasn't fired? How?

Kirsche humiliated Valens. She gained 12k new subscribers and who knows how much money out of this drama and Valens got his own articles taken down and exposed for shoving vibrators up his ass when playing online games with children.
