A lot of people also have her streams on in the background to listen to, so if it's something you have to actually engage with and pay attention to like gameplay and commentary it's understandable that a lot of people would just tune out.

Her streams are long.

I'm not sure what isn't clicking for you here.

If you watch a streamer as background noise, then the streamer doing something that requires you pay attention to it instead would not be something you're interested in, so you would change it to something else.

I'm not saying "tune out" as in "have it on and ignore it", I'm saying "tune out" as in change it to something else. The same way you tune out of a radio station.

Reading the news to the audience is where the monies at apparently

Friend started working for a streamer and I met them recently. Thought it was going to be some couple thousand small fish guy but he has a million+ subs. Pretty big wheel down at the cracker factory. He was complaining about that, he hates doing political/news content but that's what pulls in the most viewers. People really want the news and commentary to be read to them.

Well, its not that they want the news read to them. It's that they want the news from someone they trust. I don't know who the streamer is, but I promise you that if they pulled a mundane matt and lost all good will, wouldn't matter what kind of news he reads. Ain't no one gonna tune into him for it.

I mean seriously, boomers are fucking addicted to CNN and MSNBC/FOX News. They say absolutely NOTHING of value. But they still tune in and still trust them. You can debate where it came from but that kind of behavior isn't going to just vanish in a single generation. The cycle will continue. The only question is the source and as it turns out, News Tubers are the new source. Hell you even see some of the same patterns. There's only two groups of news casters, charismatic men that helped to make really interesting news and have good voices, and hot chicks. Turns out, people love a good set of tits while hearing the news.

But I do think this is why Kir is doing a lot more gaming recently. On some level she has to realize shes getting pidgeon holed into doing news, and it's hard to think it's not going to take a rough mental toll on her to just read out doom and gloom. But that's fine. I'm entirely here for it. I love when someone streams a bizzare game. I think that s what she really needs. Is more creative short games.

Easier said then done though.

More cursed content similar to the Colombian Donkey Fuckers would be very welcome. If she’s reading news or playing Tarkov or the hentai game with the boat women I tend to turn the stream off. The news is boring and depressing, Tarkov isn’t fun and the boat women game is soft core hentai and I don’t really care for it.

Considering that the news that are usually available are depressing ones since that is the one that drives the most viewership. Especially over at the MSM side. Hell, people who tend to cover the news tend to step away a little more blackpilled than normal. Be it our Dear Feeder or the crazy fox lady.

The good news about games is that there's alot. And aside from Azur Lane and Tarkov, it seems she finds her best feet in weird and strange games. The Feed a cryptid game as well the wasteland food truck she did were fun. And there's plenty more where that came from.

Yume Nikki, LSD, Cruelty Squad are easy recommends.
