There are so many shitty kitchen gadgets that you buy and they stay in the back of the cupboard the next 1000 years until historians find them in the ruins of your house.
Let's talk gadgets that actually do not suck and are useful

The one I always talk about is the crockpot, I love my crockpot because I can make a large amount of food without having to stand in front of the stove for an hour. The only thing I wish it could do was brown ground beef and onions nicely because I always have to do that in a pan before transferring to the crockpot. Otherwise it's great for all kinds of things.

A dehydrator. Makes it easy to dry herbs and meats.

I'd be dead or starving without my rice cooker. Doubles as a steamer, slow cooker, timer and safe storage, and if all else fails, I get an easy and astonishingly cheap side with every meal.

An infomerical can opener. It has never failed to open a can, ever. I've used others and this is the most sucessful one because it has no bullshit other than you clamp it onto a can and twist the knob. Parents owned one and now I own one.

kitchen-aid stand mixer.
I second this as well. Used these appliances in my cooking class and they never failed.

The grandson of the creator of Kitchen-Aid was my history teacher, and I went to school with the creator's great-granddaughter.

Electric kettles are probably the perfect counter top appliance. Heating water quickly has so many applications(coffee, tea, ramen noodles, etc).

fuck i didn't even think of that since it's just "part of my kitchen."

I also like using mine to heat water for pasta instead of using the gas on the stovetop.

If you guys wanna see some shitty ones check out Mike Jeavons on YouTube, he goes through and tests these items.

A friend of mine told me a hell of a lot of these informercial items are for disabled people, specific to people with the inability to move.
