Kiwi-Chan

I wasn't really thinking of Sanrio/Chiikawa or even Hello Kitty when writing that post, which yeah they've been popular because they're all retarded/cute looking cartoon animals. I was talking more about what you first think of when talking about "anime." I'm not saying that women never liked anime, but the opinion about it culturally is very different than it was 10-20 years ago.

Most girls weren't making Kuromi their personality in the 90s lol, I assume thats what Spectate is getting at
it's weird how there's been a sudden uptick of that specific one recently. Doesn't feel natural either.

yeah 10-120 years ago I'd find more genuinely into anime as opposed to nowadays where if it's social media it's just mainly tiktok larpers.

The problem with these designs is that they're going to be made by guys following the IB-style -chan meme which involves taking an abstract concept and making it sexy, but unlike those sites we have a large female userbase and those kinds of designs are never going to resonate because we know what a "kiwi chan" looks like.
Lolcow.farm has a mascot and shes adorable without being sexualized.

That said, you have the hamsters and slobbermutt and the little kiwis while theyre not a "kiwi-chan", they are way cute and iconic.

Even a little chibi looking thing as if it were a character from Animal-Crossing would be at least vastly more sincere than the ActuallyIndians attempt at generating an e-goth in the color scheme of the site

Kiwi-chan logos, default and Christmas 😊

In the unofficial Minecraft server, I built a modified and recoloured version of Alula's sprite from Oneshot made to look more like a Kiwi along with KF logo colours and no arms. I prefer how it looks in the John Smith Legacy texture pack, it doesn't look as good in the default one and something feels off about it...

I realise I missed the bits of hair sticking out at each side, also didn't include the ribbons in the build of it since there aren't enough shades of green in MC, but I could make them yellow if I were to add them.

I think this might be the best design for a "Kiwi-chan" IMO. It's simple, not too busy, the hairstyle and the hair clip are obvious and recognizable nods at the website logo, while the sweater and the skirt make use of the different shades of the forum's dark theme. Best mascots are always those which are easy to recognize and easy to recreate - making her design look overly complicated will just make her look like a run-of-the-mill VTuber.
It just works.
