Sorry but this is not 4chan and KiwiFarms is not based (entirely) on japanese culture besides the stalking.
I find this to be too weebish.
We kinda talked about this, but I will recap.
In the beginning there was 2chan. 2 chan had 2 boards: /a/ for anime, and /b/ for everything else.
Image boards use the -chan suffix to describe their avatars, which is an anime female character as a nod to the origination

2026 join dates popping in just to shit up the thread because it's featured :ow:

I've been trying the last few hours to sketch something up with gimp as I tend to do but everything's fighting me be it my body with the headache and other shit, the position of the sun burning my fucking eyes, or just me fucking up lines to the point I start bum rushing shit.

Anyways the point is I got a fun little mental visual from the kind of slight character traits/outfit idea shit listed by null earlier and tried making it. It's basically supposed to be like a little bootleg setup of a desk and server tower with a slightly disorganized desk. Will keep working on it but I need to take a break from it soon-ish cause this is taking way too long and I seem to be just getting progressively worse at shit I used to be ok at still.

Since we are talking about female personifications of communities, I should point out people have been doing this forever.

France personifies their nation with Marianne,

Great Britain has Britannia

America actually has one too, but she's less well known. Most people use "Uncle Sam" to personify America, but ole' Uncle Sugar is the personification of the Federal Government. The U.S.

America's personification is actually Columbia. Which incidentally you see every time you drive on the interstate highways in America. The route signs are based on her shield.

There is a whole autistic subsection of nerds very similar to flag autists who pay attention to these sorts of national symbols and wat not. For example, Columbia is Britannia's little sister, and is a bit more brash and crude compared to her more stoic and proper elder.

All of this to say that its perfectly normal for the Kiwifarms to have a female personification. But it should be something that reflects the ethos and culture of the community.

People tell me that I'm schizophrenic for thinking Null has a girlfriend and isn't a perma-single-virgin, but you can't tell me that these posts don't sound like a woman wrote them. I agree with what he's saying on Kiwi-chan not being a generic goonerslop whore, but 33-year-old straight men just don't keep up with fashion trends like this. He clearly discussed this with his girlfriend and then typed up her thoughts. I don't want to derail the thread though, but I had to say this. (Good for him though, I hope they're happy together.)
Common mistake to make.

The post just seem like a woman wrote them because Null is power leveling about all the girl interests he has and his feminine side is out lol.

Her name is claude and she's really good with programming!

This what you have in mind? (I wanted to make a green hair version as well, although I actually like the brown hair one better. Not sure if it still looks too feminine.)
That could be one, great work!

I would probably also go with brown hair, but green clothes.
An x-chan can't be a boy since the -chan suffix is only used for women and girls 99% of the time.
99% of the time means nothing, we make our own rules (or at least that's my idea, I don't have to follow some arbitrary rule that doesn't even matter).

Agree with the thread consensus there is literally no need to make a Kiwi-tan a large breasted hentai coomer thing it really does not fit the theme of the website at all. Jersh has done a good job of keeping the porn shit that is rampant on chan sites off of here

We need a thread with all these images/avatars. Parallel to the Vex thread, but not merged in it.

Anyway. My input to our local artists and prompt engineers:

X: lolita. No one wants this. It's gross and pedophilic
X: nudity or overly sexy. NO. Ultimately the portrayal of Kiwi-Chan is with respect/homage. Like your country. A precious entity that requires service/protection
X: Trendy. Nope - things cool today are dead tomorrow.
X: Portrayal being accessory-dependent. No. A personage is a person. No one here disappears without a keyboard.
X: Non-human or male. Ugh. Fetish food for troons, gays and furfags.

There are more constraints, can't think of them now.
The avatar may come from a patriarchal tradition. I will grant that to that part of the community. However, it is what it is. To change it is to acknowledge it more.
-and that isn't what this thread is for

I took this as a challenge to make a non "pedo and gross" look of alt design one pulling from different elements of both the other thing listed and this. I'm still completely fucking headache laden and undead so it's sloppy as hell but I thought it was worth sharing.

Was also an excuse to try drawing something that wasn't just a jacket again.
I kind of like what came out of it but I need to be less dead and probably try just drawing it on paper because I'm suddenly super shit at mouse method I've always done and seemingly just getting worse all the time.

I've started getting a kinda solid Idea of what a character representative of the site would be again. "again" because I kind of thought about it years back but even with that I've now got the added factoring in like all the stuff people pitched. My main would be like one that represents the whole of the site instead of just a specific sub-group of it's members. It'd likely be ideal to do something like what many old ones back in the 00s-early 10s did where even if the character is cute looking they're not like overly done up. One of the reasons I think the AI ones look so fucking wrong to me on top of the gooner shit is how they kind of tend to give em that generic female disney frozen/female blizzard character face or some borderline shadman face shit. You know what I'm taling about, you've seen it they even have it ont he fucking animal farm movie pigs now.

I don't know why everyone is getting their panties in a wad about having a kiwi-chan at all, why can't we have fun? The original design is fine to me, and the gray one in the caramelldansen gif is cute and uncomplicated.
Green is kiwi-coded, but it's also danger hair and I am not sure that fits. Maybe I just don't get it. As far as I remember, ED had exaggerated, but stylish mascot.
It's only danger hair if it's artificial, I imagined her lime green hair being naturally green, like anime girls sometimes do. Plus her hair was made green with the big cowlick to resemble the Farms logo, no matter what she's wearing she's got the logo! If the kiwi is only an accessory or on her clothes, it's less integral to her. :c
