Kiwi Dominions 6 Community - TW:WH3 but for actual autists

Im in the same boat. I want to actually focus on games for the 12 minutes I'm looking at turns a day, but I also want to play more dominions.
I'm down for the LA game if we're doing that. EA preference but w/e I'll take what I can get.

Next'll be LA that I host. Busy body week for me sadly, but I'll work on drafting up something. After the LA game I may do some OA where all eras are dumped into MA. It's not even remotely balanced, but can be neat especially if it's a team game.

I am just now, 70 turns deep, realizing that the throne spread is NOT what I'm used to and I'm not nearly as close to becoming the anime god I know I can be.

That being said, what do things look like on the other side of what may or may not still be Ur?

I ended up going AI about a week ago because I kept missing turns due to it being hay season so 12 hour days are the norm.
Edit: jesus christ that was three weeks ago?!

I am in a 3 way war with the Nidders, Uruk, and Pyrene however only Nidder is a human player at this point. I'm holding em off but It's not as clean an execution as I wish it was. Props to Nid for staying in this long even when it's been bad for him.

You did really well for your first game, was good having you in even if you couldn't see it to the end.
All I did was send out successful expansion parties and then use my sacred troops for some pitched battles against thrones and then in some pitched battles during my first wars. I never really figured out what I was doing, trying to do, or going to do magic-wise.

It's something you both kinda plan out and do on the fly. You don't know exactly how another player is going to play and sometimes you'll need to change shit up and shift towards a different style. It's probably the most complex and new player unfriendly portion of the game.

A good rule of thumb for figuring out a strat would be:
  • What are my paths on my mages?
  • What are national magics/summons I have?
  • What are reliable generic magic plays?
  • Do any spells synergize better with my units?
  • What are some of my nats weaknesses and how can I adress them/predict what will be exploited by other players?
  • If there is a big spell I really want can any of my mages reliably access it or do I need boosters or a pretender to cast it?
Your paths are Water, Death, Glamour, Blood, with some Nature and Astral sprinkled in depending on what paths proc.

For you your Jotuns are pretty cracked and can be buffed further. Undead spam is a very good strat especially to help compensate for the cost of your main units to have some amassed filler. Glosos are another unit in your tool box and are handy for pushing into hot territory your Jotun may be more fatigued in. If you go blood you can plunge the world into an ice age with Illwinter but blood ecenomy may not be something a newer player wants to worry about.

Alt, Conj, Enchantment would probably be the main 3 to focus on.

If you have blood paths you should make use of it since you're giving up gold but in exchange you're getting a lot of useful stuff even if you're just crafting the items for free™ devils and imps.
The most annoying part is to figure out how to actually do this efficiently: starting off with the obvious conundrum of having to click on scouts Every Turn because you don't want to hurt your fort income nor spend 600g for instant deliveries via a lab.

What's the status on the non-CWC2 game/s? You guys having as much fun as we are?

CWC2 is getting pretty stale with the big AI swing.

Is someone looking for the winning play or should we call it and spin up LA?

should we call it and spin up LA?
I can then, just going to be away this weekend. I'lll lug the lappy 5000 with me and draft one up for LA come Saturday or Sunday. I've had to drag my feet on this and archiving shit to get shit done lately. :(

This is usually why new players are warned against blood nations.

1. There's micro.
2. Peasants with zweihanders try to randomly kill your blood hunters now. They also start close enough that any blood hunter with 10 hp is an unlucky dice roll away from just dying in the very first combat turn even with bodyguards.
3. Even if you patrol unrest to zero every turn you're still taking a gold hit. Province income is calculated after the unrest hit from blood hunting but before it's patrolled to zero. It's very difficult to tell when you can absorb the gold hit and start your blood economy transition.
4. Most blood nations are ass.

Once you do learn it though you can do fun things like putting blood on your pretender and giving MA Ulm an actual late game option.

Domions6 CWC Game 3: Late Age
Game will be started Aug 11th to provide a week's time to get ready and to test if you so desire.
NO WATER NATIONS UNLESS THERE ARE TWO OR MORE.
LA Ctis is busted. Don't be that guy.
Thrones will be detirmined by player count.
Map will be Genned.

.
Server: games.beta.blitzserver.net
Port: 10130
.
Nats will be first come first serve based off dibs in the thread. If you have buds who are wanting to join but aren't on the site you need to notify us to prevent Nat conflicts.
If you are a newer player Late Age has less magic depth and more width. You have more paths while you have less skill in them.
Some simpler nations that are more new player friendly would be: Arcoscephale, Pangea, Agartha, Utgard, Man

I will take Vaettiheim if no one else is interested in it. Feel like dicking around with it but don't think it's that good. I'm open to letting someone take it though if that's what they want.

It's showing up as an EA game, also does the lack of a turn number for cataclysm mean it's not on?
Sticking with my dib on LA Ulm.
