I don't like how inconsistent post-launch updates are, for both of Illwinters' series. The Dom6 Manual spells it out pretty plainly that they just get bored of working on the same game for too long, and there are many aspect of both CoE5 and Dom6 that make me wish they'd just start formally incorporating community contributions for balance/QoL/content. When in actuality they go out of their way to specifically ignore them.

Sombre and Maerlande confirmed it's the same for most QoL and balance changes as well, outside of feedback they get from the closed community of trusted playtesters.

Reading this back makes it sound like I'm more negative than I intended to be.
I guess for as much as I like Dom6 I do wish it had taken another step forward in the design of its core systems. It's a hard game to sell people on other than appealing to the wonder of the sheer autism on display.

D6 content could have been a mid D5 expansion.

Not sure it would have been possible with how many systems were overhauled. Maps, world generation, unit mechanics, and blesses are some major changes in how the game functions.
