Then again, due to the large cyberdemon corpses, the tiny card could have been just invisible to me. It is an obviously bad idea to spawn something so small right into a battlefield. Cacodemon corpses very often create visual obstructions as well.
You're right, but the issue is that initially, certain enemies spawned items and that system could fail occasionally. So I choose a change that fixed this without doing changes to the map.

Allowing the Troonworld/Nightdive fags to turn this shit into an "official release", is a crime against classic Doom. Of course, it's only official in their minds, no sane Doom fan will ever consider this barf a part of the main games.
 
That gun is the dumbest kind of power fantasy ever brought into Doom.

It's just a "Hurr, durr, chew on my troonstick" kind of weapon that serves no purpose at all in classic Doom combat. The BFG is perfect for the game it was designed for, Doom. This abomination is not Doom.

I haven't played Legacy of Rust, are those new enemies considered official now as well as the stupid weapon ?
I fucking hope not. I've only seen one map use those and nobody played it. These new monsters are just terrible, especially the flame ball demon. Not only is he ugly and doesn't even fit the artstyle of the game, but his attack has no clear splash damage effect. You usually have no idea how far the splash damage can spread, because it's just the typical Archvile fire effect.

The worst one is the LOR plasma gunner. Just wow, they couldn't even draw a new monster, they just used the Marine sprites, cut off the second player death sound and gave it to this enemy (which sounds REALLY terrible) and made his head fall off. But of course, just like in Troonworld fashion, they had to fuck it up even further by making this new enemy zig-zagging, high speed, tanky and do a shitton of damage. Not fun to fight, not in the slightest.

To stay on topic, these things will never make it into any of our projects. There are much better ZDoom alternatives, anyway.

How the do I turn on the Reactor? I already flipped the SR7 breakers and the button in front of the reactor does nothing but reveal the Jews.
Well that was annoying, I'm not sure if it was bugged out, but even after realising there was a fourth button the Chud didn't mention and flipping it, I had to do like 6 circuits around the room talking to both chuds and pressing the one still working button ten times (the one that lets you see the jews) before it finally decided to register properly. I only knew it worked because suddenly the Chud on the catwalk had a new dialogue option about "I increased the output". I was expecting the obvious joke about igniting the chamber to be the cue I had done it right.

I've been profoundly hating every minute of "Calling" so far, right from that stupid key hunting intro to the confusing-ass level geometry and the fucked up automap and the annoying text popups at random times even after the intro was over. If I hit this button and this is a slaughter arena like I think it is, (checks map author) Dull Pencil is a sambo darkie coon.

im guessing a bug, it happened after using the lab teleporter from a finished map at Sneed level 20 (just checked, happens no matter which map I picked, used tele or exited normally. doesnt go to 22 if I try again)
That sounds like I have set the final map to be included in the regular maps rank check. Thanks. 👍
 
The final boss battle level is very good. Its pretty rare that bossbattles are any good in an FPS, but this one worked really well. And the upbeat music and dancing brick-face monitors fit it perfectly. The size of the area and the amount of cover was also very well tuned.

The funny thing is that @ArticleWriter threw that one together in a day or so. Pretty great I think.
 
I find it funny, he appears to of not posted on that account since 2022, which means its the first post since his pedo drama. :story:
