Last Update:
Dropped a teaser trailer the other day.

I've redone the thumbnail for the proper video, which I won't spoil.
I've recorded all of the narration sans reading out the forum post 'interview'.
Most of this week will just be editing after work, tryna get it out before King's BDay Weekend.

I also did this for shits and giggles and because it only cost me like $10, slight liberties were taken with like 2 or 3 sentences just to make the AI read them better.
As narrated by Dagoth Ur (Headphone Volume Warning)

(It'll be cleaned up in editing, I'm stuck between whether the background music during this diatribe should be Ten Piedad from the Blasphemous OST, or an Instrumental version of Remember Me made by Dre for Eminem, Sticky Fingaz and RBX Nah, fuck it, Ten Piedad is way better)

I've had a few ideas regarding maps, but I am just way too bad at mapping to get them done, especially when it comes to ZDoom-specific features. However, if anyone is interested in making a night-time, inner-city themed map with neon/cyberpunk elements and bar/club stuff, I have a fitting soundtrack for that, with a perfectly seamless loop.

Outside heavy scripting which might be an issue, just try. Learning is ok, watch tutorials like chubbzdoomer, and just work your way up.

If nothing else, juts start with a room and build onto it. my best success mapping was literally just starting with that, and slowly adding more and more stuff onto it, til I had a whole level. Sometimes that helps more than having a grand plan which you get in over your head on, is just making shit as you go. Unironically having a "plan" to map sometimes ruins things compared to "lets fuck around with doombuilder for a while" which TURNS INTO a map.

You know, you could just take a look at DBP37 in the map editor to understand how others build maps like this. It's not that hard once you understand the basics. The real pain in the ass is making giant maps. Never make giant maps when you're starting out, you will either burn out, take too long or they will look horrible. You could also just use the Auger Zenith textures and try to build your own map with those, to see if you got what it takes.

I mean, I do know the basics and how to make room over room, staircases, and the like. I just suck when it comes to detail and monster placement.

Oh, and BTW, AUGER;ZENITH was a limit-removing WAD, although I get your idea.

I played through a lot of DavidXNewton's RAMP compilation. Kiwi Farms DOOM mapping project #2 is my new favorite mod. It's chill walking around exploring or doing levels. I think I'm up to 10 so far this afternoon.

Who says weaponized autism can't create something beautiful?

I'm stuck on Factory of Modernity rn. I get that it's a terrywad map but it feels out of place amidst the high quality offerings.

I killed PJW and get transported to this weird lava place and then the screen gets spammed. I also found a switch that just killed me.
I would have left the map but the teleporter doesn't work.

You're supposed to wait a few seconds until the background turns black and the level ends. Let the shit flow through you.

I'm sneed level 11 after playing the first mission hub. I got the lab returner. I'm stuck and don't know where to go. Can someone give me a 🥄🥄 and help me out?

I'm not sure what you have done or not exactly, but you can talk to the chud in the test chamber for some hints maybe? I assume you have fixed the servers? Have you been to the power plant?

I beat it today. That was a lot of fun. Thank you for your hard work. The only level missing is the purple Eagle-something map. I tried and failed hard. I also need to find the rest of the clues for the chapel.

Thank you.

Thank you for the review.
Thank you for letting me smash up the servers of gay web platforms.

I fucking love urban environments in shooters (SWAT, Duke3D, the Alien Armageddon TC, Hell on Earth Strtr Pack, City of the Damned:Apoc2) - and I thought Soytown was pretty good on that front, with the shops to buy from and the seamless portals into the basements and buildings and stuff. If you feel like fucking around making more urban or cityscape wads, I'm interested.

The combination of the Hell on Earth Starter Pack and Project Brutality will forever be one of my favorite ways to play a shooter.

I'm probably going to be off topic here, apologies before hand.

If we could assemble a team, it would be amazing to achieve a custom Quake or even a Half-Life mod. Can you imagine?
Yes. I want to do a Half-Life mod. It might be maps though as I'm not sure how to model/animate/implement custom weapons and the like.

The difficult part would be map transitions.

I'd also like to do a GBStudio game. Not sure how to handle that one either.
