Kiwi Farms Community Doom Mapping Project

I just played through the first episode, and I think the map ordering needs some work. Dilation Station 41 and Retard War are the most difficult maps of that set, and are bookended by very easy maps. Those ones would do better near the end. YWNBAW isn't the most difficult map, but I think the slaughter aspect and ending fights against boss monsters leads it well to being a finale map. I suggest this order:
  • Small Isle
  • Eeveeisadegeneratefruit
  • Festering Axe Wound
  • HRT Labs
  • Uncle Jersh's Day Out
  • Kiwi Farms 2041
  • Rat's Den
  • Dilation Station 41
  • Retard War
  • YWNBAW
Anyone got an estimate on how long did it roughly take you to complete the set? I know Jersh promised he'd play this when it's finished, but now I wonder how big of a time commitment we're talking about here, since depending on legth it might not make it into a MATI stream unless it's a very slow day. Bear in mind he admitted to having never played the OG Doom, so his clear times are going to be significantly longer (+50% is the bare minimum I think). Clearing out everything in my map took me around 20 minutes I think, and that was with horrendous BFG luck.

It took me about an hour, but I was on UV and not saving very often. I also only played the main set of maps, not the Tomlinson or "big" maps.

Since he's currently flat on his ass with the flu, might be a good time to pester him into playing OG Doom and Doom 2. At least that way he'll have some experience under his belt and GZDoom configured properly whenever he gets around to playing the megawad.

Please god in heaven don't let him play with texture filtering on :cryblood:

Stinkditch Fortress took me around 40 mins to finish and, on average, each smaller map takes around 5 mins to complete, so it is about 3 - 2 hours on a blind playthrough to complete the wad.

Especially if we can carry forward the textures we have here too.
Yes, I will make and keep a pack with just the assets. And hopefully there will be much more for the next time.

Holy shit, it that one took me about 2-3h with save scumming. I must suck...

The mod is now officially released! Sorry for my lateness. Some I have an excuse for, but a lot of it was simply laziness. I hope the final result is worth it.

I skipped a beta test for this one, and haven't given it a full playthrough, but this almost a month late. If something is broken, let me know and I can fix.

I plan to provide extras. Such as a stand alone texture pack, the texture pack with the Keen replacement, and a version of the pack with continuous inventory which might break some maps like Rat's Nest, but should make the mod easier. These are mostly just removing stuff that is already included. If there's any other requested extras, let me know and I'll see about making it happen.

Thanks again to all you guys. I also want to apologize to @ArticleWriter who I kept ignoring or not doing the things they suggest for some reason.
