No reason not to do a delayed merch run. So what if they're Halloween themed. There's no rush to do it when you've got more important shit to do, so why not run it late or closer to the holidays? If quality designs were submitted for Halloween there's no reason to drop them completely given users have already shown enthusiastic interest in purchasing them. It's not like the stickers are a market and logistical gamble like the coin run was. You have a good chance at a successful run like this without it being centered around a big holiday because the stickers are so much simpler than previous merch.

Point of the post was it doesn't have to be a seasonal merch run this year due to all the technical issues delaying it and it can simply be a merch run for the sake of one. Users have the interest and if you've already received high quality designs it'd be a shame to waste them. That doesn't mean it has to be "just" the halloween designs, I more so meant that a delayed run is still viable with some possible tweaks here and there depending on the "when".
 
I like the idea of a Christmas run of Halloween themed items. It'll give you time to work on it.

"The Nightmare Before Christmas" taught us all that Halloween at Christmas is awesome.
 
I have a feeling that the announcement of checks being accepted and the merch run not happening are at least somewhat correlated. Im happy to support the site and Josh in any way, I've supported through every avenue including superchats and lawsuit fundraising. I gotta say though it makes me sad we won't get to see a merch run this year.:(
 
I kick myself every day for not getting the kiwi noodle hoodie when it came out. Print it on a gaudy Christmas sweater and I'm buying it instantly. Or anything really, a Kiwismas sweater would be kino.
 
im sure its been suggested before, but it would be really awesome to have a kiwi farms flag, if someone felt creative enough to make one :story:

I think the idea of having a sale whenever convenient regardless of holiday is a great idea. Just the opportunity to get some merch and cash for the farms is a W in general.

It’s also good for the site & many members because a lot of people don’t (or can’t really) donate, especially in recurring payment structure, even if they’d really like to.

Merch runs bring out those who can’t otherwise donate for whatever reason & those same people can generally spend $50-$100 at least, on merch, that’s easier to justify if they’ve got a family budget. (And in this day & age, it’s rare to not have a budget, -unless you’re a single guy who buys all the new Nintendo bullshit at the drop of a hat, all the time. In other words, normal people are attracted to merch runs in ways beyond general donations. They get something tangible & can thus spend money easier.) Merch runs are a bomb way to fund raise & are fine, any damn time.

Just do both and people can save the Halloween stickers for next year. Stickers are not as durable or long lasting anyway, and like you said, they are cheap. What's with the fucking attitude? People are literally trying to support your idea and give you money.

Since WB have made movies where the visual likeness of the characters and e.g. Hogwarts is established, and they themselves are selling merchandise based on these trademarks, they would definitely consider it a violation and in fact even now have a fresh batch of subpoenas that just went to Amazon etc. this year, for little people sellers making unofficial Harry Potter stuff.

Before you think they wouldn't be that petty, remember when WB blocked the building of some religious site in India because it looked too much like Hogwarts.
 
@Null Have you ever considered doing any charity merch runs for the kiwi birds?
