Kiwi on a Treadmill - Piwi the kiwi broke both legs in separate accidents and after surgery to repair the breaks staff at Massey University's wildlife ward used regular treadmill exercise to help strengthen Piwi's legs.

Fun fact, the kiwi, particularly the North Island brown kiwi lays the largest eggs relative to body size in the bird kingdom (and I’d assume the entire animal kingdom). A kiwi’s egg makes up approximately 25% of it’s body mass. An ostrich egg, which is a bit larger than a kiwi’s egg, only makes up 2% of the ostrich’s body mass. Found this out a few days ago. Imagine taking a shit that takes up 25% of your mASS (heh), that would be excruciating.
