i figured it out, my dreamseeker is out of date. not too sure how to deal with that one though with the site being dead, RIP

A lot of people were having intermittent connection issues that didn't exist pre DDoS so basically I'm going to blame trannies for screwing with the hub, but also we have been toying with leaving the server on 515 I think we are going to roll forward now. Almost everybody is a 516 client by now and it works well enough after the updates so hopefully that helps with the disconnects

edit: Some people were seemingly having luck logging out and authenticating as a guest as well

A few servers (namely vg) have implemented the clumsy trait on clowns; i.e. shit breaks when they use it and guns have a chance to explode in the clown's face.

I like the idea, but it seems a little half-assed.
A better implementation would be a clumsiness *aura* that surrounds the clown. The closer you are to that painted bastard, the more likely shit is to break.
That way the clown would suffer the most, being the epicenter and everyone trying to do anything complex would hate him just for being in their line of sight.
The perk for the clown would be that anyone attempting to hit him point-blank would suffer from just as much clumsiness that he does.

@HahaYes has provided you with some updates/bugfixes
  • traitors can now drop 'steal' objective items onto their current tile and not trigger immediate implant explosion
    • tbh it looks like this may not apply to debrain so exercise caution
  • you can now remove brains from MMIs and clone them (the brain was still marked 'alive' after being removed from the MMI which was confusing the cloning scanner)
  • guest accounts can now use LOOC
  • traitors can no longer escape their traitor implants by C4ing themselves and being cloned from their gibbed brain
  • added 'seethes' and 'sneeds' to the deadchat thingy, ie 'dead nigger baby sneeds, "wtf rdm"'
Also I moved the server to 516, my 515 client can still connect and works although it took a couple tries. Also if anyone has a 516.1663 client, that should fix the background blackness issues, although I don't personally have a copy of that release due to the DDoS so I cannot confirm.

The fact that the hub is still trying to authenticate you despite being DDoS'd means that occasionally cached credentials will fail to connect, sometimes repeatedly. You have two options I know of:
  • keep trying forever
  • logout and authenticate as guest (afaik we are the only server supporting this solution right now)

I can't login at all because of this ddos shit not being able to verify my account off a fresh installation. Didn't know you fellas were accepting guests. Be seeing you in there sometime.

I havent been paying much atention to this as i should have cause of irl work right now but why are trannys ddosing byond?

Yeah that 516 version is fucked, when I was briefly able to play I couldn't interact at all in game just only arrowkeys and dialogue window. Tried tampering with it and now it just doesnt load at all, I will catch you niggers next week maybe lol
