KiwiFlare

I'm a tech-illiterate retard when it comes to stuff like this, is this as revolutionary as it seems? Because it seems to be working well as an alternative, and if it's a local on-site thing, doesn't this kind of fuck over CloudFlare and other DDOS protection services pretty hard? If Null were to start selling or licensing or however that works for this stuff, to other folks.

I'm ready for the chad KiwiFlare supremacy over the virgin CloudFlare faggots.
It isn't unique, it's sort of a variant of haproxy and other mitigation techniques. So far, it seems to work better than those, though. It also probably can't do much against sheer brute force DDoS.

Of course that's also an issue with ClownFlare itself. This shows what snake oil CF is peddling. Fuck that pussy Matthew Prince.

Not having a good time with the new protection -- the ddos screen comes up every single time I click on a link, and whenever I try to like a post or view my notifications, I get an "Oops! We ran into a problem" error.
I'm posting using the Tor Browser with the security level set to standard, try that possibly? Not using the onion link, using https://kiwifarms.net over Tor.

Since this has been implemented the site has been running better than it has since last summer for me.

Excellent work, Nool.

Yep, security level set to Standard is imperative for things to flow smoothly.

Was working smoothly till today. Not too big of a problem but the site will lock up requiring a refresh and another go through on the ddos mitigator every couple pages. I assume through popular vpns this is inevitable though.

I'm having the same issue. Sometimes forcing a reload fixes it, other times no.

I'm on an iPhone 13 using the latest Safari.

Edit: I also emailed admin@kiwifarms.net with more details

Exactly the same here but I also get the same error when trying to reply to posts too. iOS 16.3 Safari

I don't really know what the fuck is going on with the technological side of things but this site is zipping along and apparently Null has made it happen with his own stubbornness and ingenuity and I'm just fucken proud of you Jersh. Thank you.

I switched to 2021 dark mode, restarted Safari and now it's all working as it should. I don't know if that was the fix or a fluke, but you might try it.
I don't fucking believe it, it looks like its the 10y anniversary theme that was causing issues for me, @Bundychu you should try this as well and see if anything changes

It can't do much against brute force DDoS alone, however that is a scaling issue. That's all that CloudFlare does as far as L3 protection - they've just amassed so many PoPs and have enough high capacity links that you start taking down the rest of the internet before you actually max their capacity. Hard to build those peering relationships for a single site, but if you were to start selling it...

After browsing for a while after this, the problem fixes itself. Does happen again when switching vpn.

The year is 2033. KiwiFlare keeps 98% of websites online after global nuclear annihilation. All tribute is paid unto Null who has since installed his consciousness into a computer mainframe & pees into a pod. Occasionally he fucks up the programming, flooding the countryside with piss.

I can't imagine what the issue is with people having the screen multiple times. The only thing that can cause that is: 1) you're using a network that switches your routing every other request, or 2) you don't allow cookies.
