Konami: The Downspiral Shitstorm + The Impossible Task of Winning Back Fans (METAL GEAR SURVIVE) - HIT THE LEVER

I was watching Super Bunny Hops video and he had a source who said Konami wanted to 'burn the MGS franchise to the ground'. This is survive's purpose. Making you pay for saves. Making you pay for resources. Making you pay to revive on a mission. Kicking you off the instant your net hiccups. Basically an asset flip of MGSV.

Anyone who buys this is a stupid fucking chump and deserves to be mocked. The game is a glorified mobile port for people still stupid enough to give Konami any money at all.

I bet they permaban if you mention Kojima anytime in game.

It installs a rootkit on your PC and bricks it.

I don’t know why Konami doesn’t jusr make an mgsv part 2. Same engine, same basic structure but with new maps and some new features. Heck you don’t even have to use the metal gear IP.

They probably could... but Konami has proven to be completely uninterested in just making a game if they can't throw in microtransactions and DLC into it somehow. So, if they did, expect to be paying out the nose for a decent sniper rifle, and probably an extra buck here or there for the privilege of having such amazing abilities as crouching and belly crawling.

Konami's been shit. Sure, there is Super Bomberman R, since they own Hudson was fun and a very good game, it's the fact Konami forgot other IPS like Goemon and Suikoden.

I know one idiot who howls for Contra and claims everyone loves Contra.

A bit late, but I wanted to mention this.
I tried installing the beta just for shits and giggles, but once it got to installing some of the things, I got an interesting notification.
Avast said that it had expunged the data, and shredded the entirety of the folder. I have Avast set to where if it detects a virus in one folder, EVERYTHING in that folder goes with it just to be safe.

This hurts me more as a Mario Party fan. Mario Party went downhill when MP8 came out but it went straight down like a waterfall when 9 dropped. Star Rush was pretty okay, a nice reinvention of the series, but then fucking 10, Island Tour, and Top 100... oh my god they were awful. Sure put in the top 100 minigames. Just don't forget to put in actual Mario Party!

Honestly, why doesn't someone make a Mario Party clone for the PC. Just file off all the copyrighted character and mimic the boards/mini games.

What I honestly don't understand is why Konami won't just license out the big IPs they have? They can get to make novels, comics, manga, Films, TV series, games..etc.

I know this brings up the frightful possibility of MGS being produced by EA or Ubisoft, but just think about it for a second from Konami's persepective:

1) It's basically free money coming Konami's way, the worst thing that can happen is that nobody takes the license.
2) If you're good about negotiation, you can still get to use those IPs for Pachinko or themed Cafes or whatever the fuck Konami does with those IPs now.
3) You still piss off Kojima, Iga..etc by letting them see their beloved works done by the hands of others, and at no expense to you either.
4) There is a decent likelihood that a competent studio licenses that IP and makes a good game that keeps those IPs relevant, this is hugely important in the case of some of the less cinematic fare like Suikoden or even Castlevania and Contra.. A long absence of media will definitely kill those IPs for the next generation and reduce their value.

I know that there's stuff like the Netflix Castlevania series, but those efforts are so small-scale compared to the true monetary potential of what can be done with those series..

Because Konami is a zaibatsu circlejerk where the family would literally rather have an entire company crumble than lose face by admitting they made a mistake.

How could you even be a fan of Konami at this point? They already proved after the PT shitstorm they don't give a fuck whatsoever about their fans. They don't even care enough to pretend to care.

Being a fan of any publisher is idiocy. I can understand being a fan of a particular development team, as long as they keep the same people. But a publisher? That's like saying I'm a fan of Sony.
