I don't know if you guys care, but I remember Kristi Winters from as far back as 2002, when she participated very heavily on the beliefnet.com forums, particularly on the "Christianity Challenge & Critique" board.

Her username here is, of course, "kwinters." I know for a fact that it's the same person.

IIRC she was calling herself some sort of Buddhist at the time.

Anyway, I don't know this for a fact, but I do believe that Beliefnet was probably her training ground for online debate and the genesis of her desire for attention online. That's why I am sharing this. I think if you reviewed some of her posts from the time it might shed some light on her personality and its development.


If this is already known I apologize. I started reading from page 1 but ran out of patience, and a KF search for "beliefnet" had 0 hits.

Found this post by "KWinters" where the respondents refer to the poster as "Kristi" and also found post about a Madison Wisconsin Buddhist center. So, I'm inclined to think that might be the same person.

I couldn't tell either. I don't think Kristi is as smart as she thinks she is, but she knows how to spell, especially a religion-related word like "angel," But who says "angle' in place of "angel"? If she's quoting the other person's mistake it doesn't make sense.

I also have verification from powerlevel stuff resulting from being Facebook friends with people I knew from Beliefnet who are friends of the Kristi Winters we all know. She even pops up as a friend suggestion on Facebook sometimes. I should go ahead and add her. We were on the same "side" back then.

Also, as a note, the board she frequented started out as "Christianity Challenge & Critique" but it generated so much strife they tried changing the name so if you're looking for her look also under "Christianity Debate" later in time.

Wow, she's also 47yo according to that profile stuff? I was under the impression that she's the same age at Carl Benjamin, but she's like 8 or 9 years older than him. That makes her obsession with him a bit more strange.
