A timeline for the uninitiated from my humble understanding:
- in 2015 Kurt B-Chiku Eichenwald writes an article on how the Benghazi attack was preventable and how the GOP would have legitimate criticism against Hillary given that she was the Secretary of State back then
- Sidney Blumenthal, one of Hillary's minions, quoted Hentai-san's article in one of his leaked e-mail exchanges with Pedosta
- Some random faggot on Twitter posts this part of the exchange while mistakenly thinking it was Blumenthal who admitted that they screwed the pooch instead of merely quoting Kurt
- Sputnik reporter Bill Moran (or Bill Moron in that case) takes this at face value and writes an article. To his credit though he later issues a retraction and admits his fuckup
- that however doesn't stop Twitter autists from spreading this false story to the point where Trump unironically uses it as a source during his campaign to smear Hillary
- Eichenwald being an even bigger autist writes a "rebuttal" on Newsweek on how the article and Trump citing it is definite proof for a nefarious plot by those dastardly Russians while accusing Moran of making Feindpropaganda instead of just him being an idiot who doesn't check his sources
- Eichenwald's article goes viral, earning him exclusive interviews and inflating his ego even more
- Moran contacts Eichenwald and Newsweek in order to correct the record
- in a series of private phone calls and some e-mail exchanges Eichenwald, like a mafia Don, uses a combination of bribery and threats to shut Moran up (detailed in the article posted above) since he fears the truth would undo his last hurrah moment
- Moran has had enough and goes public while suing Newsweek and its parent company for libel
- the case is settled out of court to Moran's satisfaction (exact details are confidential at the time of me writing this post) with Kurt's article being deleted
- as a result Kurt "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife" Eichenwald is having yet another meltdown while possibly being fired from Newsweek
Feel free to correct any mistakes I made. EDIT: I also made some minor edits for the sake of clarity.
Seriously, Kurt has to be one of my favourite lolcows in general. When he shits the bed he does it in the most spectacular way possible.
