Social constructs are the by-products of countless human choices, rather than laws related to human judgement or inherent transhistorical phenomena.
The concept of a social construct is central to uncovering the ways in which individuals and groups participate in creating their perceived social reality, at how social phenomena are created, institutionalized, known, and made into tradition. Social constructs are dynamic and ongoing and must constantly be maintained and re-affirmed (since they aren't handed down by nature), and because they have to be constantly re-affirmed to persist, it's possible to change them.
