Given his autism and how he reacts to members here, he seems incapable of accepting criticism, he can't even detect social patterns. He has no theory of mind, he doesn't even understand that Null wants nothing to do with him. That's an extremely dangerous combination with other mental illness, he's not going to cope with his Bipolar well at all. The only future I see for him is homelessness or suicide.

Mental healthcare is an absolute disaster in most of the world, to be honest. Psychiatry is a lot of "throwing shit at the wall until something, anything sticks", and by now it's become politicized enough in spots to see completely unwarranted changes in diagnostic manuals. That being said, any situation where a patient does not feel compelled to continue treatment of their own volition is a recipe for disaster, and for some reason mental illness is way, way worse about engendering that sort of behavior than most other illnesses. You can get a lot of people to take things like heart disease and cancer dead-fucking-serious, but mental illness is a whole different ball of wax.
