Maybe the singing doctor isn’t doing much or saying much because 1. AL is self pay which means she probably won’t get more in-depth tests done. 2. AL hasn’t been to the doctor in ten years. Doc probably knows it would be unlikely that she would ever come back. Lost cause.

It isn't.

There are only so many things that will show up in a single blood sample. Different suspicions require different samples (for example: some need to have anticoagulants, others don't).

Amber's primary reason for going to the doctor was that she kept on getting sick throughout Dec and Jan. I don't know how her doctor approached it, but if it was a case of "let's deal with the patient's main complain first" , this blood test was done to check her white cells and the sample would be useless for pretty much anything else.

Someone up thread mentioned acanthosis nigricans. Did Amber use the term in the video? If so it was disingenuous as this is something diagnosed by visual exam with no need of a blood test. If the term was mentioned to Amber it was during her visit to the doc's office, not something that came up as a result of her labs.

She said her doctor says she has acanthosis nigricans. She even showed a screenshot of a definition for it. What she didn't mention is the fact that this is usually caused by insulin resistance and is a sign of incoming diabetes. I've seen her in the comments of this video insisting that her doctor said it's just because she's fat.

Bless you both. I only watched the first 3 minutes because I didn't have my adblock available, so I missed a good chunk. But, like others, I find it a little hard to believe that there's nothing abnormal about her blood work other than her gross skin pigmentation and the extra 350+ lbs she's carrying on her. Not surprised she left out the tidbit of it being a sign of diabetes though lmao.

I still have a hat to eat. And I will eat it if she doesn't have elevated levels of "stuff". Maybe they aren't quite OMG BAD yet. But I would bet that hat that they are on the elevated level side. Just like that little scenario in General went with the doctor calling saying her labs were ok but.. and AL is dumping out the veggie drawer and canceling her next appointments. She's probably right on the cusp with a couple things, I can't imagine her liver enzymes are well with her skin looking the way it does.

I know we're still getting this stuff days late, but I wonder if she's even bothered to LOOK at the actual numbered reports.

How is it that the doctor didn't send her her labs/ask her to come in to discuss them? Unprofessional. And Amber is stupid for not wanting to know the exact numbers on her lab results that she paid for.

I honestly don't know if those emails are real or not, but if they are, holy shit that is unprofessional af. I find it hard to believe that an actual doctor would write an email like that.

I've never used an online portal, but anytime I've ever had lab work done, the doctor automatically went over the numbers with me at my next appointment. So, this seems very strange to me that they didn't go over it at all with her in text.

Also, since I'm inexperienced with the online portal, is it normal to display like this? From this it looks like at least one message from Amber is deleted or missing. Or maybe it's a forward? It just looks weird.

I really can't get a feel. I looked at the tutorial for the Followmyhealth.com Youtube and it's not very helpful.

This is what it SAYS emails should look like, but its also a video from 2013.

When I had lab testing, my results were posted in my online portal and my doctor had me come in to discuss them cause fuck if I knew what the numbers really meant. It's definitely strange that the doctor didn't go over them.

As for portal messaging, in my experience, it's only used IN the portal. It seems like she just emailed her off her basic email, not in the portal.

She is beyond dumb. There are plenty of very, very serious illnesses that don't show up in bloodwork - she's treating this as some great HAES achievement, but what about the terrible stresses on her cartilage and bones? Her heart performance, poor knackered thing. Her raging plantar fasciitis - the tendon strap at the base of her foot has collapsed, its glaringly obvious. Her blood may be perfectly fine but what about it's pressure measurement?

Ah fuckit. Lets go out to eat to celebrate, whilst Doctor Becky explains to the stupid people.

Incidentally, its not the email transmission I doubt. I've just never, ever heard a doctor be so vague, nonchalant, and limited in the English language. Yes, maybe she chose a softly-softly-catchee-manatee approach in person, but doctors just don't communicate like this, especially not with patients they don't know. I want a bit more than "yeah, you're fine. Eat plenty, keep your strength up" from my doc.

Edit for clarity. It's not that I....disbelieve, exactly. But remember the video where she finally owned up that she gave the cats to Rafe. Except she didn't - she twisted what she said to make it seem that only Rarity went to Rafe's when both cats had been dumped there (and was pissed as fuck when we called it. Listen and believe, bitches!) She didn't lie, but she was extremely economical with the truth. And we saw it with the whole Casey situation and you'll all have other ones you remember.

I simply don't believe that any halfway decent doc, with a histrionic patient whose weight measurements goes into tons territory and who hasn't been to a doctor in whatever-number-of-years-we're-spinning-today has nothing more to say than the equivalent of "yeah, looks ok. I spose. Whatevs."

Tl;cbatr @Rotogravure I think your hat is safe for the moment. I don't think you even need to have custard on standby.

Doesn't actually have any lab results. Doctor says in email "labs look good" which only means nothing is abnormal and there are no outliers (assuming that it's even an accurate email. What doctor even emails like that?). Girl could still have high levels that should be watched but we don't know.

I still think (and I know others do too) that she should go for the A1C diabetes test, since she states here that diabetes "runs in her family" -- although I suspect she means type 2 not 1.

Edit:

Email From Dr, with the FWD mashed out and the RE RE FWD back to the doctor, which is odd.

FollowMyHealth messages via the portal does look like that. However not with all those fwds like that. If you long into the FollowMyHealth portal you can see your test results. Not to PL hardly wait for my doctor to reach out to me after having blood work done. I login to the portal to look at my results. However, Amber isn't intelligent enough or cares about her health enough to comprehend her results.

So I actually use FollowMyHealth, and they don't send the emails directly to your inbox like that. Instead they send you an email that looks like this (this is all I could post without doxxing the shit out of myself). They don't even send appointment reminders directly to email. It's all in the app, which you have to sign into separately.

You should post step-by-step instructions for locating test results so Amber won't have an excuse for not showing them.

Amber: "I got my lab results."
Becky: "What?"
Amber: "They're normal."
Becky: "Oh, yaaay!"

Yeah, that didn't sound fake. LMAO
