I remember this one! It was hilarious and one of my favourites since it was one of the few things about Bri that wasn't rage-inducing or completely gross. Not to mention all her Japanese "friends" who agreed with her that she'd be completely accepted in Japan and she'd like the life of luxury.

I think she discussed trying freebleeding at one point

If I recall correctly, she told everyone that she had decided to freebleed and that she just sat on the same towel for the entire week. Horrifying.

Actually himegyaru is different than the lolita.

Traditionally, if such a term can be used, himegyaru (princess girl) was all about the Rococo look. Think late 18th century princess with the pink and pastel colors. Hair was usually dyed blonde and done up in a pompadour type style.

Fast forward to a couple years ago when there was a sub-genre of this called "himekaji" which meant "princess casual". It's less done up, focusing more on wearing a sundress and hat but still looking like a "princess". It's a more "normal" looking version of it. These are a good example of it:

See? It's pretty with an air of sophistication but still keeping with the Japanese idea of always looking cute.

What this lolcow is wearing is more along the lines of what Pixy would consider himegyaru would look like through weeaboo eyes.

I have got to say I like that style, well dressed but casual.
 
IF the allegations of rape and incest are true, and considering how bat-shit wacko she is, could her and her parents of been part of some small-time cult? Her craziness and accusation of incest sounds kind of like something that would happen to a person in that type of environment.
 
Ladygaia87's "himegyaru" attempt definitely predated himekaji by a few years. When she attempted himegal this is what hime generally looked like:

I just don't want anybody to think she was attempting simpler himekaji and failed. She was aiming for something much much grander and therefore failed far harder than you might think at first glance.

Not to get super off-topic, but yeah. Like the bag that one girl has can be used with some lolita or some shoes can fit, but they're very different. I meant there's an occasional overlap with a few accessories and such.


To bring this post back to the lolcow, I'm not sure how she could be so confused with her sense of fashion. It's not even close. Even people who are shit at lolita still somewhat look like they're trying. It doesn't even look like she's buying Chinese knockoffs from taobao or anything. I'm a bit curious where she buys her clothes from.

I agree, there is some overlap. A lot of AP stuff works for himegal and for some reason people are allowed to sell Jesus Diamante in lolita comm sales and such.

You know how every once in awhile some girl wanders into gal or lolita wearing like, a pencil skirt and thrifted tshirt and proclaims it to be "lolita" or "gal". I always wonder what those people are huffing. Ladygaia87 is the epitome of this. It's like they see photos of people wearing the fashion, and hone in on one really specific generic thing and decide that's all you need to be a fashion. "This Japanese himegyaru is wearing an elaborate coordinate that includes a dress with black lace on it.. so this black crochet lace top I got at walmart is *perfect* for himegyaru!"
 
So a long time lurker, but I became obsessed with LadyGaia87 in 2012 when I was living in Tokyo and a fellow American ex-pat told me about her. Her ED page is all I have to go on (but it does contain one of my favorite sentences of all time, accurately describing hime-gyaru as "princess Dolly Parton") but she sounds like such a mess. I especially love her talent of trying to ingrain herself into communities of things she's "passionate" about (long hair, hime-gyaru, parenting BS) and having those communities tell her to GTFO cause she doesn't get it and is doing it wrong.

I know it's a longshot, but just wondering if anyone has any new information on her?
 
There's no real new information about her, other than she has moved to Indiana and works in a factory. She has all her profiles on all social media platforms on lockdown, and since I don't care enough to bother, I haven't really followed her shenanigans. She still uses the username "xlpurplepixielx" everywhere though, so if you find that username somewhere, it is probably her.

I did find an updated photo of her, though. Unsurprisingly, it looks like she has gained a lot of weight.

Sorry for the late response, but thanks for this! She looks like she ate Amy Lee from Evanescence.

I looked up the username on Twitter and apparently her account got suspended, lol. But I did find her hideous new(ish) tattoo by searching.
