Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what got wrong. I tend to respond to Reddit PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

You did a racism. You did an imperialism. You did a nationalism. You did a xenophobia. You did a white fragility. You did a weak apology. You did no growth. This makes it abundantly clear you don't understand the intersectional nature of the multiplicity of your offenses.
 
So I'm writing a five page letter to my SO:s bull apologising for slavery. I find it simply impossible to find the words that can even begin to formulate how sorry I am for the indescribable horrors that was committed by YT people against People of Color. Any writing suggestions?
