Last Epoch - Best Epoch

> OMG Tencent is owned by the CCP / Chinese government, don't give them money!!!
These are the same retards who can't see that Google and Facebook was funded by the CIA. All Western entertainment is encouraging anti-European agendas to some degree, and is heavily supported by jews. If the game isn't a gay kike feminist nigger eyesore, I have no problem in the CCP getting some money. I don't give a shit about Tibet or Hong Kong, just give me a TND simulator.

Not wasting money on trying out nu-slop anyways. I will keep playing my current Steam library untill my hard drives crashes and I need a new PC to keep editing videos. It looks like Diablo and I'm not a fan of that genre anyways.

this has generally been my go to arpg between POE leagues. i'm playing explosive trap / acid flask bladedancer currently and it's pretty fun.

they need to do something about the maps in monoliths still. they feel too monotonous and empty.

100 hours this cycle, last one I've played for about 200. Not enough changed to keep me interested, boat league in 5 days anyways; according to the road-map 1.3 changes the endgame stuff (monolith/echos), so if I don't come back for 1.2, I will definitely come back for 1.3. Had some fun with spellblade, sorcerer and falconer this season, but didn't even push to 1k corruption.
The concept of the game is great, but there are some issues:
- Dungeons are boring as fuck, the dungeon-exclusive abilities are an interesting design, but all the "this way is blocked!" shit gets annoying fast. If I could just jump straight to the boss fight instead of going past trash mobs in a maze-like map with backtracking issues, I'd fight them a lot more.
- Game performance is awful; I run cowboy simulator 2 way better than this, and the graphical difference between these two games is astonishing. Funniest thing is that changing your graphics from high to low or from low to high doesn't seem to impact your performance too much.
- This is a second cycle in a row with a gold dupe, once again - Chinese players are to blame. Just kick these chinks out to their own server. They're ruining every game in which they're allowed to interact with normal people. MG search is trash as well, especially for idols.
- I'm just going to say it: a negro knight just doesn't sit right with me. I don't even care it's there, the devs are a bunch of soys and most likely trannies as well, but if they're gonna have a negro in their game, primalist would be a much better fit - a shamanistic negro with relation to African culturee, beliefs and animals would be also much more interesting than another nordic/viking primalist that we've all seen a 100 times by this point in games. But I guess that would be considered racist to make negro turn into an animal and they had to make him a class that is generally seen as noble, honourable and all the other stuff we know knights for.
- Too many off-screen enemies (spires, these bird fuckers, siege golems are okay) and DoT is hell - if you're caught in a DoT, you will most likely die before you get out of it.
-Chat filter is probably reliant on AI to save money, since it finds normal everyday words offensive. I'm not talking about saying nigger or whatever, but just normal fucking words. It doesn't take other languages into account as well, so good luck if something in your language is a slur in English - I know Hungarians have complained a lot about it.
That being said, it's a pretty good alternative for PoE if I want something not as time-consuming. Nemesis system is a great addition, blessing respec is great for alts. Just wish the devs hired some more competent people (though their job offerings are "3 years of experience for an entry level salary", so that might be a problem) and that they would stop being the game's worst enemy (at least sometimes).
tldr; good game, incompetent/inexperienced devs, all we can do is observe and hope the game improves in the next few cycles and bugs from beta will be fixed

I tried it when it first launched, got to around 80. The initial levelling and discovery is quite enjoyable, but the game somewhat flatlines when you're doing the time rifts/echoes or whatever they're called. I hate that you outlevel bosses which give important, meaningful unique drops for a build you want to make, and how it makes you have to redo the echo and its quests to the point that you can challenge the boss again. I guess this shit changes after something else comes into more of a play which I didn't discover. Crafting system seemed nice and generous at least up till the point I played, but I was only barely introduced to the whole fusing exalteds and uniques thing.

You shouldn't really outlevel bosses in early monolith. You can easily get to regular monoliths at level ~45-55 and 70-80 to empowered one's.
LE's crafting is definitely much better than spamming 100 essences on an item. I like it. You get an item with t7 exalt and craft on it, if you fuck up you just destroy it for shards (usually) or throw it out.
Legendary crafting can be frustrating, but it is very rewarding. Too bad it's tied to a dungeon. At least lots of noobies cry about tier 4 Julra being too hard, so at least there's something to laugh at.

I leveled some sort of mage (frozen claw) dude when it launched to about 80 and let it go cause it got boring.
I think it's an OK ARPG. Personally, there's way too much time involved in farming stuff in these games, but then again, you really don't have much else to do and everyone these days expects forever-gameplay-as-a-service.

Better then D4, not the greatest ARPG though but still fun. I do enjoy the crafting system and slamming items.

I finished the campaign during the beta and did a couple of monoliths and got bored. It's all right, but it requires weapons-grade autism to give a fuck about grinding for hours and hours to get pieces of gear so you can grind more efficiently or climb a leaderboard or whatever. I like spamming thorn totems.

Hand of Judgement Unarmed build. Punch the ground, Stun everything, Heal fully around about 350k dps rn, still working on gear while i run a thunder wolf primalist on the side so i don't burn out

Hasn't the dev scammed people by promising a full game on release story-wise, and then the full release is missing like 2-3 story chapters "to be added at a later date"? It also won't let you use cosmetics you've unlocked/purchased if you're playing offline, so it's basically soft always online DRM of sorts. No wonder they partnered with chinks - they are already as two faced and four tongued as those pencil dick, slit eyed, soulless husk bugmen.

ehh, idk about the cosmetics thing but im pretty satisfied with what the game provides, as long as the Story stuff is free its still doing better than darktide so far.

I played a lot last cycle and a lot in early access but this time I just couldn't get into it for whatever reason. It just feels like Path of Exile for dads with no free time, only its full release is less polished than PoE was in 2013, and too tightly designed. Half the fun in ARPGs for me is breaking the game.

Path of Exile is too sweaty and nolife but Last Epoch isn't sweaty and nolife enough (yet) on top of the lackluster endgame content implementation.

The perfect progression speed and reliability (just "speed and reliability", the mechanical implementation wasn't the best) of item power development was in PoE when Harvest was first introduced. It was like a much more RNG-heavy but also more nuanced version of LE's crafting, where you could target what types of affixes you wanted to add to or remove from items, and balanced around PoE's lack of Stability mechanic. You could actually say "I want an item with X exact affixes" and reliably produce one without any serious risk (or at least, not serious in PoE's masochistic terms), but with enough RNG that you got asshole - clenching moments that LE's quick & straightforward crafting system can't deliver on.

Also, Dungeons suck. They need to add more structured generation and "setpiece" tiles since yesterday. They don't feel like real places, just series of identical arbitrary hallways. They could learn from Torchlight II, and add some large tiles that only show up every few runs, but include their own little subquests or minigames, and are sufficiently visually distinct that the monotony is broken upon seeing them.
