Somebody on these forums mentioned the webcomic "Sin Fest" some days back. I hadn't read it in years but remembered liking it. I clicked and went down a rabbithole of story arcs and back issues (for want of a better term). I think Tatsuya Ishida might frequent this swamp of ours. If he doesn't, then he desperately needs to because a cursory skim through the forums of his comic shows a bunch of people angry at him for betraying his message or being critical of the trans and vaccine lobbies and he probably needs somewhere he can actually speak his mind, even if anonymously. So far as I recall his early comics they were pro-feminist, showed a tolerant amusement of religion and had a running semi-critique of porn as something addictive and that got in the way of a healthier relationship. And had likeable characters. So far as I can tell his attitudes haven't changed but the world has and has turned on him. Most of the 2020 and 2021 comics show a healthy skepticism of current authoritarianism and censorship. And an empathy and pity for America as personified by little "Sam" who represents the country.

I'd love to buy this guy a drink sometime. Just so he knows he's not alone in what he sees. I like his art style, too.

I hope he's okay.
