Did anyone else have teachers not give a shit and let you walk the entire mile?

I decided to walk the entire mile once to chat with an obese friend I had at the time. I made him chase after me to see who could finish first during the last bit of the mile and he nearly had a fucking stroke. I felt bad but at the same time… it was such a short distance, Christ it must suck to be obese…

Not at my school. If you took more than 15 minutes you failed gym for the year. Then again I was a fat kid and had no problems with, I think there were two kids that couldn't.
