I Love a good BHPH lot. You can find everything from absolute trash for double blue book to insane hidden gems they don't understand the value of. A friend of mine got a 91 Jeep Commanche with zero rust and the Diesel with only 98k miles for $3100. The paint was garbage but everything else, including the bed was perfect. Now all he's done to it is Rhino-lined the bed, added a set of steel bumpers, went up 1 inch on the tires and re-painted it. He regularly gets offers above 10k for it from people who just see him parked at the Tractor Supply.

I've known a few dudes who've ran them as well and they say that there are only two groups that use them. Hood-rats that are going to pay insane mark up because they have sub 400 credit and car guys who've found cool shit and always pay cash. It's always good to know someone at a shitty lot though, because whenever you want to buy a very specific used car, they can ear mark their auction runs for you and you pay an agreed upon fee plus cost and end up saving a lot of money

I remembered seeing a 80s series land cruiser and a small dealer lot after hours (not really bhph) for 4K. And it was in good condition for the price. I went to the dealer the next morning and was ready to buy it. But they told me that some guy from Colorado was flying here, and was gonna drive it back. A couple days later it was gone. This was before the car market went full retard mode. I bet you that same 80 series is now 10k+ now.
