It's supposed to be "new half", I dunno when they started saying "transgender".

Though it's still hilarious how that's very clearly a man's voice, he's not even trying to sound soft in mannerisms or anything.

Cowboy Bebop was good because Dai Sato was heavily involved in writing it and Watanabe hadn't achieved sufficient big-kahuna status to just force whatever bullshit he wanted into it.

I thought it was good because the dubbers poured their heart and soul into making the dialogue as Tarantino as possible.

Plus Watanabe even while controlled hasn't always worked. His episodes of Stardust Memory were the ones where Kou helped his own enemy to fix his mech, ditch his wife and go back to Zeeking. Macross Plus blows it in the story department in the last episode through resolving its conflicts via copout.
