Done. This guy browses 100% via Mobile though, which is why he has a fetishistic attachment to embeds. Now on Dobson's thread he just screencaps his entire fucking phone's massive 640x1080 resolution. I have no idea what to do for him.

this is a good point. maybe thumbnails as a default? i know when i'm on mobile i have been guilty of that

@SteelPlatedHeart

fullpagescreencapture still works just as well on mobile.

alternatively there are screenshot apps on iOS available. I've only personally tried Awesome Screenshot, which is not as good as I'd like but it still works for small screencaps.

failing that, mobile screenshots at least look a lot better if you turn your phone to landscape mode when you make them

Good to know, sorry about the size of the images. Had no idea they were posted so huge.

Also, I believe you have an iPhone? If so, you can crop your screen shots by using the 'edit' function in the photos app. It should be the first symbol on the bottom right.
The resolution will still be pretty big, but at least you can edit out the irrelevant parts.

By the way, would it be preferable to disable most embeds? I've noted people have a tendency to directly embed posts from Facebook/Tumblr/Instagram without archiving, too.

After cropping use something like http://picresize.com/ to resize the actual image. Reducing it by 50% will probably be fine.

I didn't even know there was an embed option. :/ Shows how much I know.

I screencap everything anyway. I should probably try and back everything up though on an archive site.

he should just use spoiler tags when posting images from mobile and a wee warning in the tage that the image is huge.

Just pin snipping tool to the bottom bar and use that. Don't even need to save. just copy-paste.

Can you now disable Facebook embeds, because we're running into the same problem of people just slapping up links to facebook posts that cows see and instantly set to private.

That's one that makes a lot more sense than disabling Twitter embeds, as inadvertently clicking on Facebook shit has actual security implications.
