Any non-vegan meat that comes from the death of animals. Things like 'the meat of an artichoke' or 'faux meat' are okay though.

how do you feel about field mice, insects and snakes being butchered wholesale in the production of most major cropsAny non-vegan meat that comes from the death of animals. Things like 'the meat of an artichoke' or 'faux meat' are okay though.
TLDR:I've seen some sneaky food manufacturers sell "keta" salmon as food for humans. Keta is a word they invented because chum salmon doesn't sound very appetizing, and rightly so. Chum salmon is dog food and no one should ever eat it. Pink salmon isn't much better. It's poor man's salmon and if you want fish you'd be better off buying tuna or something else good rather than buy pink salmon and convince yourself that it's good because it's salmon.
Farmed salmon is trash, but the one saving grace of the salmon farming industry is that it takes a lot of pressure off of wild salmon populations. The wild salmon industry is nearly unsustainable even with 70% of the salmon people eat coming from farms. If all the world's salmon consumption were coming from the wild it would either wipe out populations within a few years or raise salmon to exorbitant prices because the supply would have to be heavily restricted. Such restriction would paradoxically increase the harvest of salmon because if the prices increased to such high amounts, people would say fuck the rules and overharvest because they want money.TLDR:
Orange (farmed and sick to the point of death corn fed (no I am not kidding)) salmon you buy is dyed orange
We raised salmon in school. It's especially a problem with king salmon because they naturally have lower populations and longer life cycles than other salmon. It's nearly impossible to catch king salmon in rivers now because commercial fisheries have settled on the bare minimum of fish allowed to pass into the rivers as to not completely eradicate the run.
