Leftist Memes - Or lack thereof...

Has someone posted this already? I do not know, but every Shaun tweet deserves to be here.
What the fuck is he talking about? Most scientific studies that matter right now are being funded by billionaire corporations like Pfizer. Communists are seriously the most retarded people when it comes to condemning actual corporations. And Shaun is another retard who could have his own thread, grifting off of the idiocy of thousands.

This is clearly one of those “climate scientist consensus” arguments where the assertion is that the people whose paycheck relies on claiming a climate doomsday are always truthful because most of them agree about it, while any dissenters are just paid off by Big Coal/Oil. Again, most of the time, both sides likely include people being paid to espouse a certain narrative, be it from those fossil fuel industries, “green” companies trying to justify their crappy product or left-wing groups needing a smokescreen to justify a socialistic takeover of the economy.

"The scientists sucking up to the cabal of major corporations saying they know what's best for public health are not paid shills, it's the ones that tell you to doubt corporations that are the paid shills!"

Lefties will always defeat themselves.

Nothing says a genuine threat like a lazy, gluttonous cat drawn by an old white dude who is older than all of the people combined. Oh and they drew him off-model on top of it.

Maybe they consider the life of being a shiftless and bitter layabout like Garfield to be an ideal one.

The shitty 'meme' political statements with garfield slapped on top are just the zoomer/gen X version of boomer facebook posts that slap tweety bird on for no reason other than nostalgia points. It started with you are not immune to propaganda and it's just gotten dumber as can be seen here.

Oh my God. You're right, it's actually just an even shittier, unfunny boomer meme. :story:

Didn't the right wing do the same thing with a NEET frog that just wanted to play Nintendo games? Worked out pretty swell for them.

Pepe was more or less unknown until 4chan started using various images as a reaction to everything. I'd argue it became 'right wing' purely because several groups including the ADL called it a hate image. So the be edgy every single wannabe badass started spamming it or using it as their icon and thus is history made. In this case this is 'the left' attempting to copy that same success badly.

True, Pepe did seem to more organically get his status, but again, never ever discount the possibility of some innocuous comic strip character suddenly getting a mascot role they never intended.

True but its simply the left being absolutely uncertain of how memes work. Pepe became synonymous with 4chan after it became such a massive presence which is naturally a scapegoat for many groups to blame things on. (Or was).

I believe they also tried with some baseball mascot suit too but I don't think that worked too well either. They're welcome to try as much as they want but I'd pick something less than pathetic Garfield. Pepe is, at the least, a format that can hold many kinds of expressions.

Edit: Missed a word.

Yeah that was Gritty, the Philadelphia hockey mascot. They tried to force it so hard but it flopped. Didn't help that the "memes" were usually just Gritty calling people -isms and -ists, or brutally murdering whoever the media declared the enemy of the moment.

Crouch-Gritty.jpg

Lefties also believed there was a "battle" between the left and right to claim him, but it was all in their heads. Pepe was already a thing, and nobody knew or cared what Gritty was.

I actually stole that picture from a news article declaring the left had "won the war" to claim him as their own.

Things like this have no blood in them. There's absolutely no passion, no cultural connection to anyone in any way. Nobody freaking cares.

The left fundamentally misunderstands this. Memes are supposed to be viral, you can't force them to catch on. This shit is why the only left-wing memes that are even vaguely popular, are fucking stolen 4chan memes and stolen right-wing memes such as the NPC meme.

It's incredibly telling how almost every one of these attempts at making something a far left character it's some generally consoomer-oriented brand or related to a brand identity. Garfield, the minecraft bee, really any mainstream character in movies, tv, or games but mostly games, and sports mascots. Pepe was someone's random comic strip character that nobody knew about for years 4chan organically adopted and the original creator hated that for a while. Any of these 'memes' the corporation they're adopting the IP of would probably support it. I know it was true for Garfield. The brand was basically dead in the water, having been bled dry over the years from over commercialization, and the self-claimed anti corporate side of the left basically kickstarted it again even though there was no substance left.

I love how it looks completely fucking psychotic and ready to kill you for something it thinks you said.

Just like your average leftist.
