The Battle of Thermopylae itself was a thorough massacre for the Greeks, but it did prove to be valuable enough to hold off the Persian advance enough to allow the Athenians to amass and army to drive off the Persians and temporarily unite the City-States.I'm not versed enough on ancient history but wasn't that war a greek victory? Don't see how that qualifies the Spartans to be portrayed as a soyfaced wojak when they weren't accepting overlordship and then won. Other than to own 'the chuds' I guess.
