Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

In fairness, not counting remakes or whatever, this game is the first time in over a decade that the three goddesses and a physical Triforce have been important.
That’s because before this was BOTW/TOTK and it’s clear stuff and the world was messed up there. And before that SS which was establishing how everything started. We were always going to go back to the goddesses eventually. it just takes ages to make a Zelda game. So sure it can be like 10-20 years since they were important but in game time that can be like 1-2 games.
I think it's just The Wind Waker, Echoes of Wisdom, and maybe a little bit in Twilight Princess?
Pretty much.

To be fair, the goddesses have never really been important outside of lore. Not unless you're counting the Oracles. I think it's just The Wind Waker, Echoes of Wisdom, and maybe a little bit in Twilight Princess?
And Ocarina, and ALTTP... the 3 Goddesses (even when they didn't have names) were pretty important foundational beings in the Zelda games. Many cultures consider 3 to be a sacred number, or have some kind of tri-angular or 3-pieced object in their heraldry so I really liked the concept.

But somewhere around 2011 it became a story about angry sentient mud fighting eternally against (totally not fanfiction) Zelda and her reincarnating boyfriend... on that note, are Link and Zelda eternally a couple too? They make a cute pairing sometimes sure, but I kindov liked it more when Link had some options.

I think Link and Malon are cute together in OoT, it's sorta what Zelda and Link would've had if it came naturally instead of it being fate and dreams and all that stuff

Nintendo is too cowardly to say yes.

Also for the three goddesses, I consider lore relevance to be important like the mentioned Ocarina of Time. Knowing it was them that created the Triforce and technically started the entire game's plot to happen is pretty crucial. No Triforce means no King of Evil, after all.

It’s funny how, aside from Zelda, most of the girls who have the best chemistry with Link are all redheads whose name starts with M (Marin, Malon, Midna, Mipha). Wonder why that is.

This is because at any time there are like 3 generations of Zelda fans coexisting who had drastically different styles during "their time".
I’m guessing there’s the top-down style, the traditional dungeon-focused 3D style, and the newer open-world im-sim style.

Personally, I like all three.

There is that gameplay wise, but then there is also the artistic style generations of Zelda as well.

People who were like less than 12-15 years old in 2002 often seem to not understand the Wind Waker backlash, but like they have to understand how it might have felt for someone who saw the art style progression for Zelda go from this

to the style of Wind Waker.

And now people that are used to both of those going to this weird psuedo sci-fi style (or whatever you want to call it or it is called) of BotW and TotK.

People joke about the meme of Miyamoto being confused over Twilight Princess, but it was a matter of basically having two "generations" of Zelda fans at that point from the artstyle perspective.

But yeah, specifically in regards to art style or whatever, you have old fags like me pining for a style that's all but dead and been replaced with the storybook style of ALBW/LA Remake/EoW, the Wind Waker style and now the the semi futuristic/sci fi/whatever you want to call it style of BotW/TotK so Zelda fans seem like they never know what they want.

That's the idea
Imp Midna is unironically 40 pounds of pussy and ass. She's just floating drumsticks with a smug single fang grin. That's not even artists exaggerating it, her body mass is actually 80% in her cheeks, thighs, and pot belly. She's not a pear, she's a lightbulb. They had to know exactly what the fuck they were doing. I refuse to believe otherwise. People being creepy fuckers and sexualizing the Inklings and the bird girl from Wind Waker and all that shit, sure, that's on the fans. But Midna being a forty pound pussy that grinds on top of Link's head and bosses him around is 100% on Nintendo. Her imp form was actually MORE sexualized than her true form, which is astonishing since her true form is literally a completely naked woman in harem silks with black bodypaint covering over her bits.
