Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Minish cap was still Windwaker Link.
I hate having to say this but you're wrong.

Minish Cap was the 'origin story' for Link's hat before they decided to do Skyward Sword. It's also the origin of Vaati, meaning it has to be before his game. Add to it that it's set in a dry Hyrule with a novice Link and that means it has to be pre-WW.

Officially, it's pre-OoT.

Telling the origin of Vaati and the Four Sword, The Minish Cap takes place many years before Four Swords, making it the first story in the Four Swords trilogy.

The official timeline released in Hyrule Historia places The Minish Cap and Four Swords between Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time. Four Swords Adventures, which concludes the Four Swords trilogy, is an indirect sequel to Twilight Princess and currently the third member (along with Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess) of the "Child Timeline".
It looks like Wind Waker because they decided a stylized Link would suit it better, but it's not specific to its timeline.

The Wind Waker style Link is probably the best design in the series but it is convoluted how it was used for three different timelines (minish cap pre split, Four Swords Adventures in the child timeline, and obviously Wind Waker and it's sequels in the adult branch) I do miss that particular art style but they just used it as a default direction for most of the games in the 2000s

Today is the day. Dorito said (twitter) that he was honored to be coordinating a world premiere of a game that has been in development for "2.5 years", which is about how long BOTW2 has been in development. Plus they premiered the first BOTW in a meaningful way at Dorito's show a few years ago. Place your trust in Dorito Pope. He shall not forsake you.

It gives you that nostalgic feeling, doesn't it? While WW isn't my favorite Zelda, I can give it props for that.

I ignore the timelines. The series is generally worse because of them.

Timelines are only fun to argue about on internet forums. Anything official is very not-fun.

Timelines are retarded in a series that ends up being the same exact scenario 3/4 of the time.

It's why I can't understand how anyone takes Zelda storylines seriously after the age of like 13.

I'm going to assume that the use of the word "can" is not a typo and say that you are correct. Teenagers and young adults anymore are dumber than children.

Yeah, I meant can't but they're pretty retarded so I guess I should be able to understand why. The Nintendo fanbase is pretty autistic lol

Edit: I also just realized the only Nintendo fans I know are between 25-40. So it's not just teens and young adults.

After about a solid year and a half of getting into Zelda, I'm inclined to agree. Why give a shit about lore when all I wanna do is play as a green elf swinging a big ass sword around?

Was watching Conan the Barbarian when I suddenly remembered that Nintendo straight up used it's soundtrack when they revealed Twilight Princess.

Man, it's sad remembering how epic I thought that game would be at the time.
Oh you want some deep lore? Buckle in, friend.

From IGN at the time two weeks before OoT's release date in 1998:
Beginning November 6, Nintendo will be showing a 60-second The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time trailer before movies across the US. The preview, which features the music of well-known composer Basil Poledouris (Conan The Barbarian), can be seen on more than 11,000 screens. It airs through December 3.

IGN64 has obtained a copy of the trailer. For your convenience, we've digitized it in both 160x120 and 320x240 formats. Be warned though, the 320x340 version is more than 30MBs in size and does not feature sound. Enjoy.

I can't believe this is real. Why would they not just use the ganondorf fight music?
The entire premise of Legend of Zelda series fits the "Soyman deals with his wife and her Tyrone Jamal boyfriend" so much, it's both unreal and unnerving. Kinda justifies all that faggot link stuff by hacks like fugtrup and such.

If I'm being honest, Twilight Princess is actually tied for my second favorite game in the franchise alongside Wind Waker. For me at least, it has the best support character, really interesting art style, more engaging combat, the Wolf gameplay refreshing, and the story, while not perfect, is also compelling.

What curb-stomps its potential sadly largely is due to the more linear dungeons and limited item and weapon usage outside of the levels they are introduced in.
