Len'en Project ( 連縁 / レンエン ) Thread

imo Len'en has a lot of meme potential
a lot of the precentage of the Len'en fanbase are memes
just check out zaro's channel on yt
Len'en might have some memes, but my point is that they're entirely inside jokes, reliant on your pre-existing knowledge of the franchise. The videos I've mentioned managed to reach out to people outside of the fandom, which is why Touhou became the sweeping phenomenon that it was. Nomico's Bad Apple!! managed to make it onto CNN, for example. Meanwhile, I'm fully aware of Len'en's existence and have played one of the games, but haven't heard so much as a peep from the community. That lack of free advertising will make any hopes of Len'en becoming a indie darling like it's parent series little more than wishful thinking.

I can only imagine what could be, in an alternate timeline a Len'en song is featured on some news network and everyone is confused as to what it means. Once they find out? All Hell breaks loose.

i wonder what people will think about suzumi kuzu and tsugumi

Never played, only heard of the series from Jynx showing off his April Fools PC-98 remake from NND(Btw, fuck Jynx for never releasing those stages to begin with, I have already lost interest in it). Also only found out about Len'en from Touhou wiki as well.

About Len'en Project becoming popular, it would have to catch lightning in a bottle to even reach a 0.1% popularity of Touhou getting. Touhou did it by getting the most die-hard fans of its time with fulfilling the magical girl waifus quota for ez doujinshi money(both coomers and non-coomers) along with making plenty of remixes of ZUN's music with variety of genres you can ever think of. And that is still a small percentage of what the fans did for the Touhou.

Len'en also has a problem of living the shadow of Touhou, even when it is unrelated to Touhou though it still easy to draw plenty of similarities from the first glance plus Jynx's April Fools work.

I'm surprised it took this long for a chinese version of 2hu to emerge.
oh cool! I never knew Touhou had an cafe and an chess-like game!! Also , woow... I never knew that Touhou had a cell-based system, allowing the player to take different paths to face different bosses!! Len'en truly copied Touhou , gosh! I can't believe I'm an Len'en fan!

I read the op, clicked the spoiler, I have no idea what this game is other than it's built around lore about anime girls inspired by lore about other anime girls.

>create whimsical magic fairy world
>still use pronouns instead of antinouns

Also that zero Gameplay vote speaks volumes
people voted for their favourite aspect of the games.
The lore is good and I enjoy learning about the characters.
Len'en focuses on the lore and characters more then gameplay.

They're not officially troons, as the author's intent is that the characters were gender ambiguous to avoid "deriving characters of coolness and adorableness." However, as I said, the Western fanbase tends to be rather pozzed, so "non-binary" headcanons are extremely common.

Most of them look like 11 year old boys to me. But there is a lot of ambiguity. I found myself thinking "Well now this character looks like a girl because I started using "She" and vice versa". So it does indeed work as intended if you think hard enough.

While the creator probably never imagined western wokesters to be so nutty, I'm nor surprised that it's the reality because of the current year.

I'm interested to see how Book of the Cafe will turn out (maybe it will feature characters from future games as units?) and I'm wondering what Monochrome World will be like, since Jynx said it'll probably not be a danmaku shooter.
