While kind of melodramatic, I was inclined to believe the hitting-head-on-a-rock-at-the-tender-age-of-seven story, simply because it would explain so very, very much. But diabetes complications makes more sense, considering it was bad enough to warrant SSD ten years ago.
Now that I think about it, though, assuming he really is 46 (& not 58, I think those records may have been a mistake, considering his recent court documents have his father's name & birthdate), that would put the start of his diabetic complications at his late thirties. Onset was probably earlier than that. How the fuck do you develop (presumably) Type II diabetes at such an early age? You'd have to have either a strong genetic predisposition or absolutely abysmal eating/health habits. I'm leaning toward the latter.
Now, I'm not exactly one to talk, since I have high blood pressure at 25, but the medications I've been taking for years kind of ruined my everything---my weight & my kidneys, for starters. I was also dealt kind of a shitty hand in the genetic lottery. So it could be he just has shit genes, too. I dunno.
