Things about Shaner you should know:

Len Shaner cannot read.

The hand dealt to Shaner is a comically and cosmically bad one. Born with severe mental retardation, he was not given special needs attention in his youth. Much like the children of his era, those unable to afford that type of care were either institutionalized or left to their own devices. The reason Shaner was shifted from school to school was not due to his inability to learn, although it contributed. It statistically had more to do with his outbursts and inability to control himself. Because of his inability to recognize faces, understand social cues, or contribute any meaningful dialog to conversations amongst his peers, he was bullied and vilified. His parents evidently cared enough to keep him in an educational environment up until he graduated high school, but that in of itself was a large feat; one that couldn't be expounded upon.

Len never went to college as is evident by his lack of a career and ability to understand English. When he posts in this thread, it may look like he's answering old questions on purpose to derail the thread. In truth, he's that slow. He can't understand the numerous meta-jokes and memes that flourish here. He doesn't understand the Internet or Internet culture. Len Shaner cannot read in the fullest meaning. He can't comprehend complex sentences, illustrations or allegory.

This is a man who is aware he is very dumb and frustrated he can do nothing to change it save putting in hard work with a therapist, a speech coach, and adult education services.

As someone who worked his way out of special ed to become the top student in honors class, I can really sympathize with this. It's too bad that Len is too much of an asshole for me to actually care about him.
