While trying to follow the thread at work, I had this amusing mental image of Hy somehow getting one of those court-ordered whatevers to obtain everyone's IP address, and then either not knowing what the hell this information means ("Is your IP address space 127.0.0.1?") , or being shocked that this "conspiracy" reaches to all corners of the globe.

1) How? No one on this site uses their real names.
2) That suit would get laughed right out of court. Mocking a pedophile isn't "defamation", it's pointing out the fact that someone has been confirmed to be a pedophile. We aren't jokingly calling him that, he has molested children in real life.

You also can't take legal action* against people for expressing their opinions unless you can PROVE that they were presenting evidence to support those opinions that was falsified AND they were doing so purposefully to damage someone. Libel's hard as fuck to prove in the US.

*This is America, you can TRY to sue for just about anything, but a lot of things don't even get to the earliest phases of trial before getting thrown out.

I have quickly done a Google search regarding the FBI and their jurisdiction. Somehow, I highly doubt that they'll truly go out of their way to get extraterritorial jurisdiction in order to arrest a human-goddess shrine maiden in a sealed off gap world within Japan because she made fun of a guy who shits his pants and got his lawyer to unironically say "cumrobbery" in court.
