This scripted chase leads me to another cool change.

There a chance now when you try that trick he doesn't follow you down the hole, but rather runs down the stairs to cut you off.
This was so awesome the first time it happen, and got me killed in a panic.

With the removal of the room we met him in before, we meet him in here now.

Also the same as before. Anyway we steel the doorknock and enter the hidden room downstairs after this.

Dark rooms make a return, but with a twist.

I have no idea how the hell a candle lights the whole room this well, but I'll take it over walking around in the dark.

Now here the part where the timeline changes a lot. We try to open the basement door when we hear a girl scream.

I personally feel they just don't fit. But that could also explain the whole dead mika turning into a oni thing. Whats more junji ito then body horror. In this case It's the body horror of a dead mika turned into Yandere dev.

The 10-15 minutes I have played of it is something.

Main reasons I picked this one is the 3 features it mentions on the page.

Version 6.23 episode 2: More big and small changes for the better.

So let's start by showing off that Wig oni(s) (not the official name of them, but damn does it look like it) do have a slight change during jail bar scene.

Sure the change is just that it still wearing the wig, but still that neat it keeps track of which oni is chasing you for this.

Next you can also move these two top book cases. Despite how small we look heroshi seems to be really god damn strong.

Behind it is just the flat head plate

Behind that the safe we needed the diary code for in 5.2

We still need a code, but the puzzle isn't as mind numbing this time.

Top door leads to some stairs but beyond them the door after is locked. So no point going up yet.

To the right

Is another dark room.

Thankfully 95% of these dark rooms have candles.

One thing to mention is the nonstop sound of raining and when lightning does happen it does the typical flash. Sadly pretty random so I didn't get a screencap of the room turning yellow from it.

And Takeshi's whole speech about it being his fault was moved to this room. Despite that it's still unchanged so no need to see it.

We need to move it down to the stairs.

It's still resident evil puzzle, but now it's just a reference rather then being blatantly whole sale ripped from the game.

Not too much different with these rooms aside from they are both now flipped on the inside.

Fun Fact this oni changes depending on when you first go down here.

Anyway we unlock the door with our key and find a dark area. BUT THIS TIME NO CANDLE.

Go left again pushing a plant out of the way.

Boom, no bullshit chases in the dark, it's short, it's sweet and doesn't outside it's welcome.

We also steal oni's picture book. Because we already assholes, we might as well.

Inscrutable "combine X with Y" puzzles would be a lot less bullshit if you could inspect the items like in RE 7-8.

Also I wonder if Mika and Takeshi were killed off just so the player wouldn't have to backtrack to collect them.
