For the record the CK1 thing is just an idea I've been playing with. Also given my insistence in alternating between me and whoever takes the reins it could be done with hypothetically as few as three or four volunteers, so its absolutely not something the entire thread would need to participate in. Assuming i go with it anyway, Victoria is the easier option, and of course sticking with XPiratez is the easiest.

I really, really liked how you did Victoria. Everyone had an active role and it felt like we had real agency in the game.

Oh no, not again!
Uh... What the fuck is this song? It sounds like someone hosted a laid-back rave in India after taking roughly all the drugs.
It's reminiscent of the time I heard some early minimalist electronic music on my local classical station, because I spent several minutes staring at my radio in sheer bewilderment at what I was hearing and why the fuck it was on a classical station. Much the same here: just sitting here at the desk with one eyebrow stuck in a arch for like seven minutes.

Overcast landed the throw, but she took a cannon round right on the chin. Surprisingly, despite not wearing proper armor, it only took off like a third of her health.
And then we get back to our regularly scheduled Looney Tunes antics, only if Daffy Duck didn't give a fuck when Porky Pig runs up behind Elmer and makes him squeal for once.

Witty knocks out the goon guarding that glowie bitch, and then kills the laser glowie with reaction fire. We don't even get the chance to see what Peasant's killer looked like.
Seeing as that fucker cost us a Gal, he'd end up looking like ground hamburger anyway by the time we got done with him. That's just cutting to the chase.

Behold, the void of space.
Between space zombies, the infinite empty void, and that damned ambiance, I already don't like space maps in this. Good job, game!

Another problem is that I would be interested in continuing the game all the way to HoI2, which is possible to some extent, and I thought I had the Paradox Curse beat only to have it take an unrelated save game I was screwing around with earlier. Still, even if the Paradox Curse limits the game to only CK1, it could be fun just to fuck around with.
Call me paranoid, but attempting to run an entire Paradox megacampaign as a Community Fortress Empire would likely incur the wrath of Spergankhamen and drop the Paradox Curse on the entire subforum or something. Passing a save file around for something that's already a touch unstable is going to add several avenues of integrity failure.

I've never played any Paradox games myself; I have enough trouble not blowing a fuse trying to play 4X games in general. I've lost track of how many times I've probably scuttled a decent start after like 30-40 turns in Civ V because I feel like I've made some nebulous-yet-incredible mistake that's screwed everything forever.
That said, you're not in the habit of abandoning your threads, so unless the site explodes or you get carted off by glowies, I'll trust your judgement should you decide to start something else. The Victoria thread was pretty neat between how you were able to factor our input and our own shittalking among ourselves while everything was going on, and looking back at the dates, it only took a few months to run its course.
If you do decide to attempt a Community Empire, my only real limiting factor for volunteering would be trying to keep my own thread on track.

I really liked the victoria thread, so I'd be cool for staring at you and a few others map painting for a few months.
Though I'm already filtered in terms of volunteering as I've got no idea how to play ck2, much less its predecessor.

There's always this old LP, fittingly titled "How The Hell Do We Play Crusader Kings 2?", which might be informative enough to keep one from falling on their face completely, though that's obviously for the sequel. Besides, if I'm reading this part correctly:
Additionally, a game of CK1 is never over until you absolutely lose your very last territory, so even if the worst happens you can always escape to some faraway island or obscure minor territory you inherited and continue the game in exile, slowly rebuilding from scratch.
... then the worst possible thing that you could do is corrupt the save file or put the kingdom in such a terrible position that it gets roflstomped into oblivion within fifteen seconds of loading, both of which can just be rolled back to a prior save.

There is actually a pretty good Steam guide for Crusader Kings that's fairly comprehensive.

Actual save file corruption on the old Paradox games is fairly rare, the Paradox Curse, or at least the classic one, refers to conversion failure. Which because of the wildly different games can sometimes happen for no identifiable reason. So far I've only had a single conversion failure from CK1 to Eu2, no conversion failures from EU2 to Vic:Rev and countless conversion failures from Vic:Rev to Hoi2. My best guess is that CK1 to EU2 failures will occur because of something to do with England not forming. Beyond that, I know relatively little and not a whole lot of guides have survived the Paradox Forum's many data migrations.

Hell, i might actually be the last person who still has the Eu2-to-Vic:Rev converter.

I mean sure. I'm not that into 4X games due to RL issues but I did play CK2 for a while at least. Doesn't mean I'm any good at it.

It's nice seeing my buck-brokee actually gaining some muscle-mass. One day, he might just become da king of dem slaves.
