When you take away the thin layer of progressive ideology he and his friends hide behind, all I see is a bunch of washed up LPers venting their bitterness at the people who took "their" concept and made it work for a mainstream audience. I don't like playing the jealousy card, but it's just too obvious at this point.
Where does this sense of superiority they still seem to feel towards PDP and others come from? Their content is objectively inferior on a technical level, especially slowbeef's. Markiplier's fans are dumb babies for watching his videos, but slowbeef's fans are the intellectual elite for watching him comment on a longplay while intrusive twitch messages pop up every 10 seconds?
I guess you can't help but become conceited once the only fans you have left are sycophants who only stick with you because of nostalgia, because you share their ideology or because they hope Diabeetus will hop into one of your streams.
As a sidenote, nobody who isn't a braindead drone could think that PDP is a genuine nazi, but playing dumb and fabricating outrage is an effective way to slander someone you happen to dislike because he's more successful than you.

I find slowbeef intolerable when Diabetus isn't around. I don't know why but somehow slowbeef just becomes more funny and self-aware when he's working with him. Seems like he anchors him to retsupurae is great content but slowbeef's personal projects are all mind-numbing.
I get the feeling that, though he doesn't like Trump, he really has to bite his tongue a lot to keep from angering his super progressive friends while maintaining relationships with more grounded centrists like Lowtax. So he resorts to mockery, and in this case, Markiplier being the more mature of the two made him look rather foolish.

The same is true for Diabeetus, to an extent. They work well together because slowbeef is generally more informative, is really good at laughing at Diabeetus' jokes (more important than you'd think) and can make a few good jokes from time to time. When slowbeef is by himself, he's just kinda boring, like you said. Diabeetus is very funny, but by himself he becomes kinda boring too since witty observations alone aren't enough to carry a video imo.

Also way to miss the point, Marks video was basically what any sane person should adhere to - if we want to have any chance of making an "equal" society then we really do need to remember to respect each other, even if the opinion or the things people do bother us.
Some people were waiting for him to come out and say "omg u guys I gotta denounce pewds and tell him off" and he also pointed out he had zero interest in doing that just to give some people satisfaction.
