Let's Players originating from Something Awful - ft. VoidBurger, General Ironicus, Bob Kamoc

So I did a fair bit of looking into Bob Kamoc/Shesellssheshells/@tortoiseontour and holy hell, there's a fair bit to go through.

"i go by bob/bobby. anyone who calls me "robert" i immediately consider to be cold because they don't know me well enough to know my preferred name. i'm not going to respond to a pep talk from someone who doesn't care enough to call me by my name."
:story:

Also, holy fuck, the guy gets rejected once trying to get a very limited job offer at a pretty big website and it completely wrecks his world and haunts him one year later.
Man, now I can't help but wonder how VB would've dealt with that.

And now he's a moderator on Voidburger's personal LP forum. Bitter failures will flock to small amounts of power like moths to a flame.

Just to clarify: he was the one who set up the forum. Void just got in early because she's buddies with him.

Funny, right after all the ask.fm sperging I mentioned earlier this happened:

I seriously don't get why he's so hung up about his name. Like, if someone uses the formal version of your name in a non-formal environment, it barely even counts as a faux-pas - certainly not something getting this pissy over.

EDIT: I found Void's example video for Polygon:

Uhh yes, it's always that darn misogyny. Voidburger is like the exact opposite of a strong woman. I respect actual, strong women that are out there tying to make a difference and not SJWs that bitch incessantly on twatter.

Voidburger is an insufferable drunk, contributes nothing to society, is jobless, plays video games, and barely makes any money to survive. Tell me how any of that makes her a strong woman.

Fun fact: Void reads novels intended for people a decade younger than her.

And if there's anything worse than a woman who still reads teen lit into her twenties, it's a woman who has to make said teen lit political:

I know plenty of strong women, they don't show their "strength" by retreating to a parent-financed manchild den to play video games and whine on twitter about how nobody gets how special they are every time they don't get their baseless opinions validated by enough reshares.

you would think everyone who says "i want to do lets play as a job" would look at what happened to DSP and see that its a poor way to make money

But guys! She's DIFFERENT from DSP! No masturbation on stream, she comes from SA, the obvious MECCA OF LET'S PLAY, and she has a huge devoted following of people that stand with her through the thick and thin because she's just such a swell person.

Has nothing to do with the fact that she serves as one of the primary mouth pieces for their emasculated viewpoint, or that she got her notoriety primarily from bonin' Chippy.

Also her streams are really fun. She gives trigger warnings, and even has awesome art streams! She never rips into her fans, she doesn't constantly bitch about her situation....I mean come on, how does she have ANYTHING in common with DSP?

I mean golly gee guys, she could obviously make a career out of Let's Play, if those super right-wing, corporate America rat race fuckers like Polygon would just give her a honest chance!

She's even more hypocritical than that: she's a feminist that stays at home playing videogames whilst her boyfriend works and supports her.

And, even though her only "responsibilities" are playing videogames and editing the videos of her playing videogames, she still needs help from Chip regularly for those things, too.

Way back when I made the OP, I made mention of Void making this:
Somehow, I hadn't realized that people would object in the comments, and boy they did:

(The link Void gives is to the exact same video all this was posted on.)

I've been writing up a tentative Lolcow Wiki article for Void - I have no clue if it'll actually be created, but I'll likely put it on my user page or something. (I do feel like SA as a whole needs an article, which could maybe then link to Shmorky and maybe future people of interest there, and/or feature shorter biographies for people interesting enough to note but not cow-worthy enough for a full page.)

I kind of feel like Bob/tortoise man is page-worthy, but I'm not entirely sure of that.

"I hope you aren't insecure enough to keep responding to this comment thread".

Every single time you butt heads with these people, they will say something to the effect of belittling any attempt at speaking out because they feel they deserve to have the final word and want to set you up to look like a bad guy just for having a response. Every single time.

Jesus H. What's the deal with the casual defense of pedophilia and these people. Maybe the LP Zone can add the help hotline of NAMBLA to their Mental Thread.
Rapp is a weird one, in that she's sex positive to the point of not really realising the harm that the trade even just of pre-existing child pornography does when she advocated for not punishing people that possess it(iirc that was her stance).

But she also seems aware enough of issues for both sexes that I think she's calling out the trend of ascribing a malicious/rapey intent to a guy that likes kids in a completely non-sexual non-romantic way, i.e. the sort of attitudes that have guys that want to work with kids thought of as super weird and suspicion-worthy these days.

EDIT: I found Void's example video for Polygon:
The worst thing about this isn't that her mannerisms are annoying or that her jokes are bad, or that she continues to talk in that typical Youtube/Let's Player falsely/forced enthusiastic tone, it's that she's inconsistent in constantly hopping between all of those things.

If you wanted to be super optimistic about it, you could say it demonstrates range but to me it says that she either doesn't know how she wants to present herself, or that she doesn't know how to present herself. Both of which are pretty bad for producing content like that in the first instance but are also bad for giving a prospective employer an idea of what they're going to be getting.

So, after quite a bit of researching, I've got the initial draft of a VoidBurger Lolcow Wiki article ready.

Holy hell, I never realized how short Chip is until seeing that. What was it that was tweeted to Melania Trump? "Chip! Blink twice if you're in danger!"

As for the page. Interesting read. A lot of information there I had no idea about...such as 100ft. Robot Golf, the PS4 VR game. Geop, Chip, and Medibot are some of the names I recognize along with her on the production cast. I'm just curious if this game is some sort of LP Zone & friends circle jerk, or if just a few of them were able to get involved?

Jesus! Chip looks like a little kid with stubble taped to his chin!

Got a feeling even if he presents his drivers license when buying liquor they refuse to sell.

It's more or less a game built to showcase E CELEBS and came out about as well as you'd expect. Not even the SJW-y sites could give it more than a passing mention in their awards shows.

I don't think she understands that being a professional public performer requires a lot of skill and talent with acting and stage display, even if you're just playing "yourself".

But she thought that was going to land her a paycheck. I'll beat this dead horse until its bones turn to dust, but I honestly don't believe she's ever been forced to work hard once in her life because she doesn't even seem to know what hard work is.
