In a recent Yooka-Laylee video VoidBurger started sperging out over not understanding what to do in a section and she used the word "cocksucking" and says "suck my dick."
Now, I don't have an issue with either or of these things, but it's pretty strange hearing a SJW who's so keen on language-policing imply that sucking dick is a bad thing (how homophobic!) and that she is also sexually appropriating a dick and then demanding it be sucked (how rapey!)

It is ridiculous, isn't it? You and I say "suck a dick" as an insult or jibe and who cares, because we're just shit-talking. Shit-talking is normal and harmless and it's just part of our American culture to make little jabs at people, it's part of how we bond. It would be ridiculous to expect Voidburger to couch every sentence out of her mouth to make sure she doesn't step on the ill-defined and self-absorbed boundaries set by 50 groups she knows and 500 she doesn't to the point where she has to qualify every idea she wants to express with "I respect everyone who deserves it", like a conversational version of affirmative consent. It should be presumed she has basic human respect for other people until you see some direct evidence that she doesn't, not the other way around. Or at least, I think she'd paraphrase all of this as her reasonable defense for why every little word out of her mouth that you don't like isn't the end of the world.
And all of that would be fine if her side wasn't constantly denying the same defense to anyone they define as not one of the tribe.

ohh i've got this one because men are historically and currently the oppressors of women it's empowering and therefore morally correct for women to take the language of the oppressor and use it to fight back against them. read as its ok when women do stuff because they are oppressed and the patriarchy.
Although im sure that she would stop saying suck my dick if somebody wrote her a heartfelt story about how it triggers them because they were forced to perform oral sex on a man while they repeated it.
Also void is weird about dicks there was a stream where she talked about how games should have dick physics like boob jiggle physics in video games for like half an hour, heres the stream but i dont feel like rewatching it to find the correct part.

The fact that they give no parameters for when they've succeeded "enough" is proof that this is their privilege - the privilege of excusing themselves from the rules in perpetuity, because they'll always have a morally superior justification. So you end up being told you're a rape apologist for looking at a hot woman, but it's perfectly okay for a woman to mock a guy's appearance or make jabs that he can't get laid.
15 years ago these same people were saying the same lack of restrictions on personal judgment was a terrible thing, when it took the form of George Bush's terrorism color chart.

I'm one of the people that have kept watching and I've honestly lost a lot of respect for the dude. I wouldn't even care if he did paid content for a shmup or some shit (times change) but doing this for a minecraft clone that no one gives a shit about, is just so god damn hypocritical.

I was at that point when he did his Policenauts LP (which was a long time coming) but streamed it on twitch, had extremely loud and obnoxious notifications for donations the whole time (iirc there was no minimum amount so they went off constantly) and then just dumped the VODs on Youtube.
It's not that I really begrudge him for it (apparently he's making pretty good money off of this and he has a family to think about) but I have also accepted that slowbeef/retsupurae are just not worth watching for me anymore. And if he shills for a Minecraft clone with a video that looks like something Markiplier would have made 3 years ago, maybe he's not in a position anymore to make a two hour video where he roleplays as Darksyde Phil.

Heh. Yeah I don't think I even lasted an hour, the notifications ruined what could have been a good LP. I was looking forward to that too as he has a lot of knowledge on the game. Recently his solo stuff has just been background noise, though the notifications are less frequent.
I can't begrudge him either as he's just some guy with a family these days. But he has lost the cred to mock DSP and if slowbeef wasn't slowbeef no one would care about his content. Saying that, I'll probably stay subscribed to retsupurae. It can be funny with the right content and the Dahir Insaat stuff was great imo.
I think his fall is kind of like when a really old person dies - long, drawn out and unsurprising.
Sorry for double posting but the second part was uploaded and he has literally used his child to promote his sponsor code in both videos.
Like it's just such a blatant hypocritical OTT cash grab that it feels like he's mocking other youtuber's shitty sponsor deals. If I hadn't actually downloaded the game I would be convinced that it's a joke, but the deal is actually there. He's either fucking over some small game developer or his audience and I can't tell which.

I've noticed a trend with some people on Youtube when sponsors or Patreons or cashgrabs in general are involved, at least with people I watch. They're very open about making money. They'll tell it straight to their viewers that they're looking to profit for one reason or the other. Like "I want to make money off this, and if you give me money I won't say no." They're being greedy, sure, but at least I'm not being treated like an idiot.

To be fair it's a free game and it's not like like he's selling anything. It's hypocritical as fuck but all his code does is give you free shit for a bad game.
