Her YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/user/DeviousVacuum (although there doesn't look to be a lot of recent content there) and her Twitter is https://twitter.com/DeviousVacuum (very much active, definitely SJW in tone).

The impression I get of her past is that she was a goon and posted Let's Plays of "girl's games" there as about the lowest-effort form of feminist activism you can imagine, and that there was some sort of drama around this that led to her getting butt-hurt at SA. Probably from trolling, I assume, but I'd be grateful if anyone else has more details.

Anyway, over the last year or so she seems to have worked her way in with Slowbeef, because DVac has been one of his co-hosts on his Visual Novel Book Club podcast on his YouTube channel. The VNBC podcasts don't get a lot of views even by Slowbeef's current standards and I don't think they've been mentioned here before. This is probably because even people who like anime, or are prepared to tolerate it on some level think visual novels are for shameless faggots and the truly autistic.

Well, I am that shameless faggot/autist, because I've been watching them. The whole series has basically been a story of "watch Slowbeef get cucked by DVac and his other internet friends", as they choose the most "progressive" visual novels they can for them all to discuss, and he gets to pretend he likes them. First, it was "Analogue: A Hate Story" and "Hateplus" (creator is a tranny, plot is all about evil reactionaries on an intergalactic spaceship repressing gays and women by trying to revive mediaeval Korea), currently it's "Hustle Cats" (dating sim with more gay romance options than straight ones). If you're interested in the "Slowbeef sells out to SocJus" angle, I think all this worth a mention.

However, what inspired me to make this post (other than :autism is this:-

DVac and another YouTuber called ChorpsAway stream a visual novel called "Code: Realize - Guardian of Rebirth". It's (yet) another dating sim at heart, and DVac goes for the dark, mysterious looking, vaguely vampirish guy who never talks much about his past. She openlu compares him in the videos to exes of hers where the relationship clearly didn't end well.

Surprise, surprise, turns out he's a bad guy and they get a bad ending, with the central character getting strangled in (admittedly) a rather sexualised way. DVac complains about how "problematic" this all is and they decide the game is now ruined and this will be the last stream of it. It's a really long video, but the best reeeing is around 57-58 minutes in and then after 1:53 when they start doing their analysis.

Elevating Pewdiepie to some giant monolith of gaming culture is stupid and overdone at this point - the guy hasn't ever really been any sort of "gaming icon" he's been the kiddies entertainer of the video game world for most of his career and now basically does what he wan't and gives no shits.

I don't particularly like Hate Plus but Analogue was genuinely a well written story and I will fucking fight you over that, sir.

I don't particularly like Hate Plus but Analogue was genuinely a well written story and I will fucking fight you over that, sir.

I'll concede that, of the two, Analogue was better, partly because it didn't get quite so heavy handed with the "OMG evil plot to repress women and gays" stuff that you get in HatePlus.
